Grrr...it was photo of a snake eating a mouse with *huge* balls, and it said "Sometimes having the balls just isn't enough anymore". Heh  :-\

Personally I have used the term SIDMetal since Giana was released, but Heavy SID would be nice to...

And to put all 8-bit related music in one category is pretty stupid... especially Machinae since they are so much more than just a SIDstation...

Compare to http://www.covox.net/ wich is GameBoy music and while Machinae and Covox share some influences they sound nothing like each other...

SID btw stands for Sound Interface Device wich was what the soundchip in the C64 was called. The real name is MOS6581 wich I would tattoo in old english font on my belly if I could just afford it 8)

Heh, I opened one of my recent-aquired, non-functional C64 (the first model). And I have to say I was nearly sentimental when I saw the old MOS6481 shine through the dust :P

Anyway, one of my other working C64's haven't got any sound. Even through the Monitor-port (using it for scart). Is it possible the Sid has been broken? I wonder if I should try swapping (without destroying) the sid with the other non-functional one.

You could try it... but please... be gentle :)

I think one of mine has sound problems to...
I have a little collection of Commodores actually.
C=64 (old model but Im looking for a C=64 C to)
C=128
C=128 D (big chassi with built in diskdrive and separate keyboard)
Amiga 500
but the star of my collections is a C=64 Games System (console system with no keyboard) that actually still has the protective plastic over the cartridge-slot 8)

My working one is a C64C. The one without sound is a C64C with a C64-ii keyboard. (the special chars are on top of the keys). The non working is a C64 "breadbox". The power comes on, but the screen is garbled with colours and chars. And flickers in many colors. And there is a sound too. So I guess the cpu is fubar. I have the 128D too. But I'm missing a few keys in the keyboard, or else I would have used that.

I'm on the lookout for an Epyx fastload though. I had one of those back in the 80's. And it's the only one that works with the harddrive for the c64, since it doesn't attempt to change the speed of the drive.

I've seen pictures of the console. I guess it's pretty unique :) I wonder what happens if you plug a fastload into it ;)

Gosh, I'm jealous to you, guys. Reading those lines I regret deeply that I sold my own "baby". I wish you Anaconda luck with your project...

I sold my baby way back too  :-[ Didn't have much money, so when I "upgraded" to an Amiga, I had to sell it. Now I buy from other people and on different web-sites.

I regret like hell... C64C, 1570 diskdrive and an Epyx fastload. *sigh* Those were the times.
