official machinae street team?
« on: May 10, 2003, 11:58:49 am »
Ok, a "street team": Basically fans work to promote the band because they themselves like the bands work.
Now promotion is what a record company does, but in the time of the internet, they are losing their meaning. As we all know who have found this wonderful band without the aid of any commercial instance.

Here's a things I think a street team is good for:

offline promotion:
If you want to see machinae live in your area, you have to have people wanting to see machinae, so some instance would be willing to book them.
Also when the album comes, you need people willing to buy it, so the more people, the better chance for the band to get a distribution deal.
If we want machinae to be independent and just let them work their music also in the future, we, the fans, have to make sure they don't NEED a record deal that might in some cases be restricting rather than giving more potential.

Para was talking about making an official fanpage.
I think the forum really covers a lot of machinae tidbits (like previous bands of the members, what they like and how they look like, for all you girls out there)
I'd make just one organized fanthing that is really usefull..

and most important!
MORE GIRLFANS!
;D

And I'm being an ass again.
tablesleepers unite.

Just vote for yes

Sound pretty good idea. I have already told about MS to our local disco/bar/restaurant.  ;D But that's definetly not sufficient.

I think the idea itself is very good. Too bad I have not too much spare time to go around as spokesman of Machinae.  I'm sure all of us tell everyone about this great band but promotional work takes very much time and resources. And responsibility too.
Random ramblings and furious feminine novels per versatility.

Well you're right, but I think the idea of a street team is what we've been doing so far: fans do what they can, when they can.

Like I've determined to arrange a gig for machinae, and if it happens, it happens..  some other "street team member"  might for example receive the printed ads for the gig and go place them to various places... doesn't really take long...

I don't know what I'm talking about... having a  :-\  morning...

I do as much promotion as I can these days. Between work and sleep, whenever I hang out with my friends, I put on wonderful music for them.

hide in asematunneli till it gets dark. then start forcing people to listen to machinae supremacy.
if they don't like it, we cut their ears off and tattoo machinae supremacy to where the sun shines (so people see it, duh.)

Woahahaa!  I like this one!!!  ;D
