Argh!!!! Damn BT!!

After I posted this thread, I went downstairs to watch Himalaya with Michael Palin. When I came back up and reconnected to the internet i was told I had run out of hours!!

I hadn't even been informed that I had an hour limit!!!! The last I knew I was on a "only after 6pm" thing. I'm here at uni writingthis. And when I go home tonight I will hope be starting my next month.

So, basically, I will be spending less time sat on the forums watching you all (if any of you ever noticed this) - because i'm gonna be watching my conection.

Oh btw, BT are assholes. So are AOL.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and this is for a 56k. Not content with limit broadband to 1gig a month they now also pick on us poor 56kers!

Kill them, kill them all!

Or just change your provider.

Me, I got a limit too, but it's not hour-based. I am not allowed to download/upload more than 10GB per 24hours (that's 10GB up and 10GB down, not total, mind you).

A great hobby (IF you can get away with it) is robbing your friends and not tell them about it. It's starting to get pretty damn tough.

But who doesn't like a challenge?

Johny stole my laundry basket the other day but I caught him!

Bt internet AGAIN!

I finally got my connection back - I'm allowed only 120 hrs in the next month.

So, I thought I tried some things ofered up by Bt internet - a new dial-up manager. Okay. I download it and it automatically installs (< the first point of worry).
I restart and then try to connect. It looks like it's working, but then comes up a special pop-up: "We don't recognise your connection"
Well, I just downloaded your software, thus giving me a new connection method!!!! You're suppose to have applied the fucking change!

They are so f-ing dumb! Argh!

Lately I found myself sitting on the computer for hours - giving me bad back, sore eyes and a tendancy to eat to much because I've got nothing better to do. I'm not suffereing from it or anything, but I just need something to preoccupy me when activity slows down.

Any suggestions? What do you guys do?

Try STUDY! (Just kidding. . . .)

My major is music, so studying is pretty fun for me.

Nice for you.

My course is Town Planning. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I chose it, but now it's turning into a case of: Just get a degree - doesn't matter if you don't stay in the field.

There is a bare wire leading from my computer, acroos my room, under my door, across the landing, down the side of the stairs and into a double socket next to my phone. The fact that it is running thru a phone line is very apparent to me.

All these companies that have different offers of connections all use the BT phone lines, and they all have to give BT payment for the use of these phone lines. In reality, BT alone could cut the country off.

Well, okay, I have to pay somewhere around 100-150kr (£10 or so) for my connection, but hey, it's 100Mbit...that's more or less the fastest possible to get to a single computer, as 1Gbit networks aren't that usual quite yet... Unfortunately, I share it with other people, making it a tad bit slower. I can still clock in a DL speed of above 1MB/s from an OK server, and I'd guess I'd get a couple of MB/s if I actually found a server that would give me that much...

My dad got an email from BT earlier in the year about my allnighters, saying if it happened again they could cut the internet without warning.

As for your bad back I recomend drinkinglots of milk. For the past few months my back would be kind of 'stressed', expecially in the morning when I woke up. But recently I have been drinking a shit load of milk and I no longer have that problem. It's quite nice.
