Title: Name Changing
Post by: Sirix on December 06, 2008, 12:06:37 am
1st - How many people who have been here for at least 2 years can say they've NEVER changed their name.

2nd - Everyone who HAS changed their name, post their original screen name here.

I'm curious if I've forgotten who someone was.

BUT I HAVE BEEN FOREVER UNFORGETTABLE DUE TO BEING EITHER A TERRIBLE INTERNETTER AND/OR SOMEONE WHO POSTS FAR FAR TOO MUCH THUS MAKING ALL OF THIS REDUNDANT.

and that's how forum villains are meant to work. Hint.

1. Difficult question... I think that there's quite many people here who never changed their nick... But out of them how many are active, how many are absent and how many just lurk in the shadows? I know for sure that I haven't never changed my nick at all during my stay on this forum. I know. Boring.

I have had a couple of short periods of having a different nick, but those were all made in jest and were never meant to be permanent. It was a time when I tried to add a lot of confusion by making everyone get a [some]Thing nick or something like that, I believe.

Oh, well, ok, techincally, I've changed my nick rather permanently. I was formerly known simply as Torp, but added the V2.0 at some point when changing my avatar to one more resembling my current bearded, long-haired look.

God, that was amazing. All of us had the same avatar and sig as well. You, me, SpeedD and Not12x, wasn't it?

I just replaced some characters recently, for added wannabe mysteriousness.

I'm wondering, though, am I the only one not seeing squares in their place?

It was a time when I tried to add a lot of confusion by making everyone get a [some]Thing nick or something like that, I believe.

God, that was amazing. All of us had the same avatar and sig as well. You, me, SpeedD and Not12x, wasn't it?

I've been here a long time. I'm not an active poster, but more or less have been a reader the whole time. I've never changed my name.

I associated people with their avatars and then people changed them /and/ their nicknames...
I also found myself recognizing people by their avatars and signatures. I finally turned avatars and signatures off when that option was added, forcing me to remember people's names and also cutting some clutter.

Okay, Mr. Danger. I have a case for you. Why did Lysix up and leave?

Harvey Danger and the Mystery of the Disappeared Forumer...

Sounds more like a Holmesesian detective book than the hard boiled style you belong to.

Oh, and, yeah, it seems people in here suck at detective work. I've rarely had any problems discerning who people were before their name changes, though I have to say I've forgotten many of their previous nicks by now...

He kind of brought the forums closer together in a sense.
We pretty much universally hated him.

It was nice to agree on something.

edit: Did MDX change his account name?

I know he is Mega right now, but the actual MDX account.

Has "MDX" been dead for awhile?
I'm finding old posts with MDX as guest is all.

When you live as a spiral you see more than any other way, shape or sequence can give which is how we came to a 'straight Gravehill'
Title: Re: Name Changing
Post by: Jack Lupino on January 17, 2009, 05:57:42 pm
It seems like a paradox to me.
Title: Re: Name Changing
Post by: Gravehill on January 17, 2009, 06:22:58 pm
Just imagine twisted spiral around strip-dance pole... Strip-dance pole is the horizon or tangent which gives z-coordinates or elevation for spiral. One has to keep in mind though that stripper pole is actually spiral's tail section which is changing it's direction at origo of spiral and origo is the meeting point of +spiral and -spiral which are alternative realities.

Now... If you stand back and watch never ending spiral and it's tail section you can see they are kinda pointing to same general direction. Yes, spiral is going away from tail section but it's expanding in z-depth. Also tail section is expanding so in the matter of fact you got always expanding tail and head of spiral which is meeting it's mirror version in the surface point of origo.

I know it's paradoxal to my previous statement that describes network of spirals more like web of spirals or spiral shaped tree. I stand in my previous theory but I had to make above statement because when I think that pattern flowing silvery across star systems it's just so beautiful, so beautiful. So in the end I'm not like two foxes that are glued to each other from their exhaust end but more like part of a tree that grows above and under ground and links to similar system of numerous trees.

I still like having something straightish combined to me every now and then. It's comforting.

Grave's post makes me think of the M-theory's 11 dimensions. The last seven are curled up around our usual four. But if you're moving IN some of the last seven, you'll be experiencing those as straight. Will that cause in the normally "big" dimensions looking equally curled up, or just curled up in a completely other fashion?

I think they'd be equally curled up, since afaik, it's in the definition of dimensions that they are equal, only in another direction.

But does the 11-dimensional complex, the everything that encompasses our whole universe and infinitely much more, really agree with our definition of a dimension and the way we have used it to explain that which is beyond our access?
