Title: Machinae MySpace Update
Post by: Drakonis on October 02, 2006, 09:19:36 pm
It appears three of the tracks from Redeemer Retail are on the myspace page at this point. (TTLG, Rise, and Rogue World Asylum). I can't seem to get them to play for me right now, so I'm not 100% sure if theyre the remastered Retail editions nor am I sure if its the complete song or a one minute sample...

However, the art cover for the three tracks shows REDEEMER RETAIL art and the entire lyrics are posted, so I'm inclined to think it is in fact the new remastered tracks and are the complete tracks.

You can listen to them now. Add them to your profile, they play fine if you listen to them from your own profile.

Edit: I deleted the rest of this post because it was two paragraphs of me saying: I'm still listening and I haven't decided. The differences are fairly subtle, but my ears need to adjust as there are certain things that sound different. Its still the same songs we know and love though :P

THE BASS IS EATING THE ENTIRE ASYLUM OF ROGUE WORLD.
I'm not all that impressed, tbh. Bass is WAYY too loud for my liking. rest is great, but the bass is a major nono.

I will say this, at the end of TTLG I've never fealt the urge to start headbanging (Well, anymore than I was headbanging through the rest of the song).

Or nodding. Or tapping my knees, whatever it is I happened to be doing. :P

I have no idea what the difference is but it just sounds like it got faster and just kicked me in the nuts

Rogue World: Yes except for chorus. Instrumental at midway kicks ass.
TTLG: The verses are too bare. But after the halfway point is amazing.
Rise: Definate improvement.

I've noticed roberts voice is clearer. I preffered it with whatever effect was on it before. it sounds so..naked on its own. XD

Rise: after the remix is uber, went to the top 3 of my best masu songs ever :)
TTLG: well lots of improvement for the guitars and sids can hear new sounds :)
RGA:  yarrrrrrrrrr :)

Do what Drakonis said. Add the song to your profile (should you have one) and it'll play.
Alternatively, go on mine and listen to RWA.

You have to add them to your profile and listen to them one by one. They sound ok I guess. I like the originals better though.

EDIT: What lysix said.

EDIT2: I requested you to be my Myspace friend lysix. :)

You can hear TTGL on mine (link in my signature).

I've decided I love the changes. The only thing that jumps out at me right now as being a 'difficult change' (I wont say I dont like the change because I still want to listen some more) is the sid on Rogue World Asylum seems a little harder to catch (the didldldl single note sounds that complimented the music in the background, I loved those little sounds for some reason). But I'm listening through cheap headphones at work, could easily be that.

The guitar fade in on Rise intro is also a bit weird, but I think im going to end up liking it. I'm adjusting to that ;)

Anywho boys, listen up and enjoy! :)

Can't wait for this puppy to release... I'm dying to hear Elite, Seventeen, and Ghost. The sample from Ghost was -amazing-. :) (Edit: And Reanimator, and Hate, and I know the reaper, and Oki Kuma, and Ronin...hehe)

:D I LOVE THEM.

I now know what rob meant when he said you can hear more, and its clearer etc. On TTLG you can still hear the piano behind the guitars at the start, on the previous version the guitars really drowned it out. It all sounds a lot heavier, definately an improvement ;D

EDIT: Put TTLG on my profile, and enabled auto-play: www.myspace.com/falolout

I think I'm with you, I'm digging these tracks alot. I can't wait to get off of work and hear them through some good speakers. Gunna kick some major ass.

I'm now looking forward to this release even more. It's a shame the no doubt soon to be Machinae newbies won't get to hear Fury, Cavern of Lost Time (Dammit, that was a neat intro), Empire and it's prelude, or Kaori Stomp.... We'll have to be sure to direct the swarms to the UE so they can check out those tracks cause theyre fantastic songs.

I think the newbies defenitely needed to hear Ghost though. It's always been one of my favorite tracks to introduce people to Machinae with. Everyone seems to love that song.

Most people on MySpace instantly pause the songs that come on on peoples profiles automatically, so we have to pick one that would really appeal to people. Which one do you think starts the best? (First 5-10 seconds)

TTLG has a nice piano start, sounds like it could be innocent background music or something, i'd probably leave it on while im on someones profile if i didnt know what it was.

Rise has this peculiar sort of sound to it, at the start, most people would presume it was dance or something, and since most of MySpace are emo, thats a no, I suppose.

RWA sounds awesome at the start, with the warped guitars, i'd definately leave it on.

So its a choice between RWA and TTLG, in my opinion. They should get the masu myspace page the most hits.

Good point...

Maybe I'll just imbed it into my myspace so they can't turn it off, heh. It's not like my MySpace isnt a huge advertisement for Machinae Supremacy anyway. It's subMASUnal advertising. Muaha.

I dunno, I think you're right with RWA or TTLG. It's gunna depend on the person really, all three have very unique intros that sort of demands some sort of attention, depending on what the first time unexpecting listener is into.

Yeah, I'd definately say TTLG would be the best. You hear the piano, and its relatively quiet, so you'd leave it on. Then suddenly, the guitars burst out and own your face, captivating you, and you end up stuck listening to the song.

Perfect.

If people are too impatient to listen to RWA, or Rise, then they don't deserve to be graced with the rest of the song.
Simple as.

what makes you think that those even exist?
i can't imagine that the sound engineers or whatever the guys that did the remastering are called, would bother to work on songs that won't be included in the album...

Just got a convert through MySpace! (and possibly a load more converts from him ;D)

Posted a bulletin and 5mins after someone reposted it saying OMFG LISTEN TO THESE GUYS THEY ROCK" etc :D

I spoke to him and hes saying how hes gonna spread the word, because he fell in love with Machinae as soon as he heard TTLG!

The lead guitar that comes in about a minute in in TTLG is much more accented and rockin. I like that.

Holy ssssssssshit, that synth>guitar transfer at the beginning of Rise is HAWT HAWT HAWT.

The Rise is fucking awsome!

TTLG sounds great as well, I'll just have to get used to the chours a bit since its sounds...weird because the old way was more 'filled' I'm sure it will sound better on my sterio.

Rouge World was still good but I prefer the UE one over the RE one. You can hear the SID and the other Guitar better in the UE version.

Man, I can't wait for RE to come out so I can hear Elite. It just might turn out to be one of the best songs they've done if its remastered well.

WOOT!
They worked today!

And boy does it sound different from UE.
As MR. Starstream said, it is harder on the ears. I can feel that damaged eardrums would occur at high volumes. It makes me rather uncomfortable, I already have tinnitus...
And the different parts come out more clear now. But I'm not sure if everything has become better, in some parts I think something has been separated from the rest where it should be integrated. For example some really short guitar snips that stick out I'd like more to be part of the background atmosphere.

Myspace is shit. The band players NEVER work. When they do they buffer every 1 second.
Assuming because they're on their myspace, the songs will be up for official download? 'Cause I've already ripped RWA off the profile anyway so.

That doesn't make sense if they've distrubuted them to the myspace profile, seeing as though thats not run by machinae themselves.

The new Rise and RWA are great. Dunno about TTLG :S I so loved the old one... Anyway I cant see myself chosing one of the CDs as my favorite. I will propebly keep listening to both of them after RRE is released.

I spoke to Ming and already begged her to send me the songs, and she said however much she <3's me, she cant send me the songs because they are only for distribution over the MySpace player.

I think the band will probably be of the same opinion: do NOT attempt to rip the songs off the player, you'll be ripping yourself off. The quality will be nothing like that of the real songs on the RRE CD.
