Title: DXM: Music to watch the storms by
Post by: Laser.T on August 06, 2004, 12:42:20 am
We had a storm earlier today after watching it for a while like I usually do, I decided to sit back, put headphones on and listen to DXM while I watched it rolled away. It was pretty cool. Next time you have a storm, stick DXM on and see.

We had Player One over the shop PA just when it started which was pretty cool. But I was too busy being scared out of my mind. I hate thunderstorms. ^^;

Portable CD player, right? Not headphones connected to the computer? ;) Cause, you know, nothin' like a circuit connecting your brain and a power outlet during a thunderstorm.

Then, DXM might be the last thing you ever hear!  Which may not be so bad...

Sounds like a great idea. Can't wait for the next storm. I shall harness the power of the wind!

Meanwhile it's 38°C in here... Damn heat...

This is why you buy a good surge protector, I've only had one experiance with a surge and that blew my orginal(bought it back in 96?) PC's speakers giving me a wonderful display of sparks while giving me one hell of a shock from the mouse/keyboard I was in contact with.

I take it you don't like the summer very mutch or at all? I love the summer and that temp is a bit hot but fine. Winter is what I dislike, harder to get up in the morning and it is cold.

Who cares about me, hardware is expensive! I now by rule blow atleast $100+ on a surge protector.

On the summer/winter thing... I personaly hate summer, I get sick when it's hot. Vomiting and all that fun! Winter is wonderful, I wish it was all year and I wish it was colder and more snow, I also snowboard so... Winter > *

Good to hear I'm not the only one who hates summer...

Don't know, just isn't my season. These days I wake up all sticky and sweaty and know "Hooray! It's going to stay that way" no matter if I start jogging some miles, go to uni, or simply don't move a bit...

Winter on the contrary is beautiful... a thick blanket of snow covering traces of our civilisation, it's calm and quiet, you can see your breath in the air...

I'm in the mood for Winterstorm again...  :)

I hate summer too.

I hate being too hot and being expected to like it for some reason! You get sticky, you feel uncomfortable, you don't wanna do anything, but you often expected too and when everythings getting far too much, along comes a thunderstorm to piss on your BBQ and scare the shit outta ya, especially when your near electric things. Summer sucks.

I love winter, cos you always know what to expect: cold days, maybe something H2O falling from the sky; and you get to wear all your best clothes

I don't know what is wrong with the people on the other side of the world (yea the ones in/near the european). IMHO Summer is the best season, its nice and warm, you don't have to get warm becuase you are already warm, hay fever, chicks at the beach, bbqs.

Does anyone else think that winter is the better of the two seasons?

I think it's time to invest in one of those snow machines. I demand winter in my yard, now.

I don't. I think getting frozen to death in a biting gale in Autumn and being washed out while being relatively warm in Spring are just as fun as being plain freezing in Winter and wet and Boiling in Summer. (Note: This is British weather)

I had enough snow this past winter to last a lifetime.

In good ol' Indiana, Pennsylvania, US... we had that first big snow.  There were several others, but unlike some other areas, our snow didn't melt in between.  Well, it'd melt a LITTLE, but just enough to turn it back into ice when it froze again.  This process repeated several times.

By the time it was at its peak, there were, at my count, seven different layers of precipitation.  Snow, ice, snow, ice, snow, ice, snow.  You took a step in the 'snow' and it sounded like eating Cap'n Crunch.

I would agree with VT. The middle(inbetween) bits are the worst. Like you get 22 degrees in the middle of the day for about an hour at lunchtime, nice weather. Then all of a sudden its back to freezing weather. Can the weather make up its mind for once, either be cold or hot or rainy.

Well comparing it to the heat waves they get in England it would be hot all year in comparison. Like today will be 20 degrees top, and tomorrow would be 9 - 22°C, (oh nice midday weather). The temps out side of the midday weather (9 degrees) it is so cold.. brrrr

erm....

winter

i'm one of the few people i know personally who can take snow diving with just a t-shirt on (everyone else all with thick jumpery crap, ha!) it's great, plus also tripping someone in snow has more fun, they just get frostbite instead of a broken nose ;D

 :-\

I will not go out in the snow without Mt. Everest-standard-issue thermals covering everypart of my body, except my eyes which are covered by heavy-duty goggles [/exaggeration]

Winter is ok, but it can be a bitch.
Too cold sometimes, light reflected by the snow hurts my eyes, and in bad winter weather no clothes are good enough.
The best thing about winter is skiing and ice skating.
Snowballs are fun too, unlimited ammo rocks.

Spring is very nice, feeling the air getting warmer every day, thawing from a harsh winter feels so good.

Sommer is just plain awful, it's either too hot or the weather sucks, and there's no way to escape the heat and have fun at the same time. Unless you have a well equipped basement/underground room or a place that keeps the cold from winter within its walls.
I don't like being in the sun so my skin is the whitest you can find.

Autumn is a really nice experience, cold air flowing by and nature filled with color, but the bad weather is, well... really bad.
