Title: Limp Bizkit - Gold Cobra
Post by: Xarion on April 14, 2010, 03:34:15 pm
That's right, kiddos! They are BACK!

I went to metal thanx to them nearly 10 years ago with "Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water". They made crap since then, because Wes Borland had left the band ("Results May Var"y) or Fred Durst was trying to imitate Zach de la Rocha ("The Unquestionable Truth"). Now they're back with the whole original lineup, ready to blow us off.

First sample out of the forthcoming album, due to release around June :

It's somewhere between "Significant Other" and "Chocolate Starfish". Me likey!

never really got into Limp Bizkit because well...imo they are terrible and probably have some of the WORST lyrical content I have ever heard from a mainstream-ish band.

But meh, to each their own I guess

I was waiting for an evolution... hope I won't get a regression. Fred Durst didn't changed his annoying flow (which I can bear on few old songs after the first -excellent- album).
I desperatly hope for a good and innovative album... but this extract doesn't please me that much. I miss the violence and dirt from the first album, back to the time Durst knew how to scream.

(but well, I'll listen to it when it's out and will probably masturbate on Wes Borland's riffs ;D)

And yeah, saddly, lyrical content seems not to have changed much... it's still lot of "Me/I/"I'm the best - Not normal like you so better"/I-thx-god-my-family-and-myself/"My cap is red so is my nickname"/...". Damned...

Still waiting for Borland's awesome riffs, never mind the rest of these guys.

Listen to Black Light Burns and you don't have to deal with Fred Derpdyderp.

Oh, Rivers and Otto are pretty good groovy musicians too, giving a great rythmic section to the music of the band. The only problem in the evolution of Limp Bizkit is Durst, on a musical point of view, I mean.

Well, rappers don't really bother me, as I kinda like rap music, but Durst has a really specific voice that sounds like he's being ass-raped every time hi rises his pitch. If you also skip his idiotic behaviour he's not that bad after all. That and his red cap. And his pussy songs on latest albums.
