Title: Gaming Monthly - November
Post by: Bocom on November 02, 2008, 02:03:30 pm
New month, new thread. You know the drill! Sorry WereVolvo, but it's already the second November :D

I've been playing Fallout 3 and Dead Space.

Dead Space is pretty fucking awesome in my opinion, and I am still pretty early in Fallout 3 to actually have an opinion, namely, I've just turned 19 in the game, then I turned the game off because I had something to do.

Hello forum I never come to anymore.

I am playing Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia

If you enjoyed Aria or Dawn of Sorrow, Ecclesia takes it a step further.

World of Good = many <3

Ugh - Dead Space is total fail. Even with vsync off, which results in unbearable tearing, the mouse lag is utterly unplayable. The mouse lag is tenfold worse than BioShock or Quake Wars which was pretty bad to begin with. It is amazing but not surprising how badly EA can fuck up the PC version.

Speaking of things EA fucked up ...Red Alert 3's soundtrack is terrible. They managed to screw it up even after hiring Frank Klepacki to work on it. Essentially the soundtrack is all looped and dynamic shit like C&C3. Of the very few 'full length' songs Hell March 3 and Grinder 2 are exactly the same as Hell March 2 and Grinder from RA2 but with some heavier guitars and drums layered overtop along with some synth. Epic fail. Moving on from the music everything else about the game also sucks but thats hardly unexpected.

Played through The Rain-slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode Two twice already. <3 the CTS unlockable on insane mode. Finishing off Fable 1 as evil this time. Playing through The Witcher as neutral for my second play-through.

Looking forward to the release of A Vampyre Story this month.

Okami.

And I'm really hyped for the new Spyro game coming out in a couple of weeks.

And I'm really hyped for the new Spyro game coming out in a couple of weeks.

I've been wanting to grab the wii version of Okami.

I only got about half way through the ps2 version, so I still have game to experience!

I was  fan of Spyro 2.  Haven't played the others much.
From what I can tell it has become a bit of a bad franchise... is this true?
Does the new game have potential?

The new Spyro looks sweeeet and has Frodo in it!

The recent Spyro games have sucked big time, but this time around, it seems they've put some thought into it.

I wouldn't say the recent ones suck, they're just not as good as the ones insomniac developed.
They're just average i guess.

Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon.

This.

This game is too fucking awesome. It's easily one of the best N64 games in my opinion.

The main theme and the song "I am Impact" are just too cool imo. :D

It's also the game I play while streaming live. Seeing how I completed Kaizo World 2 (zomg), it's definitely apleasant change. This game doesn't try to kill you every step you make. ;D

Rain-slick Precipice of Darkness, episode two.

good shit. real good.

I was thinking of picking up Fallout 3 too... but I kinda want to wait until after new year's eve, when I'm gonna upgrade my compy. We'll see how long my willpower lasts :)

That is one of my favorite all time games
Just recently played through again recently.

The humour is gold and the gameplay is great (although the camera is a bit dodgy)
I'd love to see a new 3D mystical ninja =(

Yeah, that's what I am doing too, since I beat it way back, but recently picked it up again.

I also agree with you, it's awesome, and Konami should definitely make a new Goemon game. =(

Yes. Otherwise I'll have to moderate for the first time in months.

Bought Lost Planet today, now I'm hoping that my weak hardware is enough to run it properly. I'm bit doubtful but if not then I have to upgrade in near future because of Fallout 3 and Mirror's Edge.

So...
- Lost Planet (hopefully) EDIT : nope, it doesn't work :(
- Need For Speed Carbon
- Mount & Blade
- UnReal World
- Rayman series (I got 3 parts from that series and been playing them with my son)

Fallout 3. A surprisingly decent game, but with the usual Bethesda flaws of poor dialogue and random unprovoked crashes(seriously, have Bethesda even released ONE game that didn't crash randomly? jeez, lern2code, people!). Like it a lot, though, even if it's not "true" to the Fallout series.

Also, I'd like to try the Left 4 Dead demo... if Steam would ever let me and Asor connect to a game :P

What's wrong with the dialogue?

I did have an issue with old black dude from Megaton disappearing. Can't fix it since there's no console to teleport him to me. :(

Spore is a bit of a let down :(

and by a bit, I mean a lot.

Like Zero Punctuation says here: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/218-Spore

you're really just better off playing each COMPLETE game that each of Spore's sections tries to imitate.

Well, what I like best is just flying around in the start area or stopping up and looking at the beautiful fantasy landscape and listening to the very much appropriate score. Judging by how much I like this, I suppose the producers have focused on the artistic and imaginative aspects, rather than on satiating the whiny needs of the spoiled gourmet gamer not predisposed to the magnificence of anything related to dragons.

Ka-Locked-and-destickified!

Also, Gears of War 2, HL2: Episode 1, and possibly a bit of Defcon. And Hitman: Blood Money, until I gave up running it on my rather crappy old computer (my new computer being ultra-slick, really awesome and awfully lacking in the graphics card area).
