I'll be online very often so ask away if you like.
If you think that I'm gonna just "leak info" you're barking up the wrong tree =)

do you have any figures of how often you albums got sold?
I suppose you know at least how many copies of DXM you sold, but with the "real world distribution (:P) of redeemer that'd be more difficult. Maybe UE only?
Title: Re: Questions/Answers
Post by: robert on November 20, 2007, 09:47:31 am
I think maybe 4000 copies of Redeemer, both versions. Gordon probably knows better, but that's my guess.

Not really a band question but since noone else is asking anything:

Are there any games featuring a Hubnester soundtrack to be released in the near future?

This goes to more each band member then the band as a whole; If you were to right now make a Machinae Supremacy "Greatest Hits" album with up to 13 tracks, what 13 tracks would you put on it and why? ... you can include Overworld tracks if you want  ;D

I once used a NES-cartridge plastic folder and the cartridge to make a draw-gun-out-of-holster effect. :)

Umm... I'm not sure, bu I feel I did hear the Machinae Supremacy -version of Britney's "Gimme more", was it just a delusion of my mind, or did the radio anouncer get it wrong, thus I have been unable to find any record of such? o_O

ok, I guess I'll try to rephrase it so it doesn't sound like I'm trying to get more album info:

If you were to right now make a Machinae Supremacy "Greatest Hits" album with up to 13 tracks of songs that have been released so far, what 13 tracks would you put on it and why?
Title: Re: Questions/Answers
Post by: dezo on November 25, 2007, 02:29:13 am
Well, you know it's actually kinda hard to answer a question such as that atm.
If you think of the fact that we are only listening to the new songs so that we can do a great live performance, choose what songs to play and in what order to play them and so on, the only things on our minds atm is just the new songs.

I guess you'll haf to come to our next gig and find out would be the current correct answer for me at least atm.
That answer isn't really satisfactory, I know, but its the best answer I can give you.

Osweet.

As a casual question, what are your influences in songwriting and general sound?
Do you game much still?
Title: Re: Questions/Answers
Post by: dezo on November 25, 2007, 04:02:58 am
Playing videogames is still a major part of our lives.

As fore inspiration I can just answer for myself.
I get inspiration from a lot of places. Korn's baseplayer has one of my favourite sounds. Dustbrothers got the rythm I want.
When I hear a sound I like I get inspiration from it, as it was with Gazus song here: http://bracagazus.free.fr/tracks/crushcrushcrush.mp3 (http://bracagazus.free.fr/tracks/crushcrushcrush.mp3) .
It wasn't actually the song that inspired me as much as the sounds and the rythms.

Listen too the Fight Club soundtrack while drinking coffee with a tad of whisky and smoking a cigarette at the same time as you're playing Got The Life and looking at ingame fotage from Silkworm. That's my kung fu.

And don't you dare ask me about Silkworm and then try to call yourself a gamer =P

what's the oldest still working console and game that you have?

AND if you do, does it need some kind of tricks and special techniques to make it work properly? (for example: my friend's NES needs to be turned upside-down to make it work)

it's not a music related question but I'll ask it anyway ;D

Chrono did a ton of the awesome signatures floating around here. Including mine.

Are there any laws that require you pay royalties to artists or songwriters when doing covers? For example, Gimme More? If it ends up on the album are there royalties or other issues that conflict with simply tossing it on the album?

That all depends on the agreement the original creators gave them. They had to ask permission to use the song most likely, but i doubt they would have to pay royalties.

About how much would it actually cost to fly to the US (or even just the UK, if that's more feasible) and put on a concert? I know the idea's been joked about, but it'd be cool to have numbers, just so we could get a sense of reality.

How did you guys learn to play your respective instruments?
Title: Re: Questions/Answers
Post by: dezo on December 05, 2007, 02:40:25 pm
Single trip from stockholm to New York costs 13.600skr. about 1300euro.
If we're going to take the instruments with us you can be sure that it'd cost 30euro á kilo.

I picked up a bass and started playing.

I think maybe 4000 copies of Redeemer, both versions. Gordon probably knows better, but that's my guess.

Isn't it a little disappointing ? I mean, the MaSu community out there is so big, I thought you could easily sell like 15000 copies of the album, seeing how huge your fanbase is.

I have a question.

Are the songs on Overworld in the 4-5 and a half minute range like alot of songs on Redeemer, or do you plan on making them longer to compensate for a lower ammount of tracks? or shorter even?

I don't really see it as a huge problem to give a general idea of the track lengths, but if dezo decides to remain silent, then that's alright.

ok, some answers from me then.

Masugn is teh coolest band ever created in sweden. Kahl (the legendary), Emil (miss him :*() and Rob (the one...) <-- the masterminds of Masugn. I guess it was in the later parts of the 90's.

Lifeforce is Kahls project. Mithra is singing, I did guitars for one of the songs. I think the whole thing is rather sweet and it shows that Kahl is a true master of music and can create whatever he wants to.

FLAK is Unreal Tournament music.. Music to gib to. ofc pun c as hell and fun as hell. Kahl, Rob and Me. I think Tomi did some shit on some songs too. FLAK is just sweet fun =)

Garden of Concrete is Roberts old punk band. Helluva live act imo. I still miss them days... ofc I did play pop/rock back then, so I have moar fun now =)

Overworld will be a complete album. You do not need to worry about the minutes and seconds. The songs are about 4 mins anyways.
Title: Re: Questions/Answers
Post by: WilllemNL on January 01, 2008, 02:05:15 pm
Ah, gotta check out FLAK too than. I thought this FLAK page would be a page with all kinds of songs in FLAK-format. Or is that FLAC? I don't use it anyway. Going to check it out right away. Thanks for the FAQ too. ;)

Now that's one hell of a great FAQ! :D I haven't quite figured out how to pronounce Machinae, I still think it's Latin so I stick to the Latin pronounciation.
Title: Re: Questions/Answers
Post by: Crazywater on January 01, 2008, 04:22:51 pm
Well, in all the songs it's pronounced like the english "machine", so that has become standard.

http://forum.machinaesupremacy.com/index.php/topic,1957.msg67010.html#msg67010  ;)

What happened to that Emil guy?

And Masugn is really cool... I haven't found any other band with a style at least close to Masugn...

So, dezo, you were in FLAK, too? Uh-huh... :)

That is so mean :(

Robert said once he would make a list with all the songs on Overworld, what they're about and what previous MaSu songs they're like.

What happened to that list? I guess you eated it :(

Y'know... I think I would actually prefer waiting until february and hearing the songs themselves rather than having someone explaining what they are about...

It's kinda like getting the ending spoiled on an anticipated movie or something, I like to see for myself and make my own opinion over adopting somebody elses. Approaching the new stuff with an open mind and all that stuff.

And Masugn is really cool... I haven't found any other band with a style at least close to Masugn...

What about KMFDM? There musics always reminded me of them.

er, ontopic: Did you guys (the band) try anything you haven't done before music wise on Overworld. Or is it all straight forward SID metal (i.e. Empire was something very different coming from masu), not that theres anything wrong with that.

WTF? KMFDM is nothing like Masugn

That depends on the songs.
We use a sound that fits, that's all.

Like...looking back you have alot of calm stuff, heavy stuff, ambient stuff, orchestra stuff, mixer stuff, themed stuff, etc.

I guess the answer to that question will haf to wait until you hear the labum. imo it's all machinae, but I guess it's possible to read some stereotypical genres and stuff into the songs if you care about such things.

Not a lot. Some variation.. a little moar sid here, a little less orchestral there.

Title: Re: Questions/Answers

yes it was, and if I remember correctly, the place also was the same (Studio Fredman)

edit*
- and so I stand corrected, again -

But in comparison "mastered in a way similar to RE..." the essentials between the ue and re versions of the last album remain; everything is a bit louder/compressed/limited/enhanced/less dynamic.

Ok, here goes with my question for the band...

Have you guys ever thought about having tracks as DLC for games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band? As that would seriously rock my world (and my plastic guitar/drum kit (when the game comes out in the UK))

Also, while I think about it, whatever happened to the 'I listened to Machinae Supremacy when they were still underground' tee? I didn't get a chance to order one before and now it's not in the shop :-(
Title: Re: Questions/Answers
Post by: robert on January 14, 2008, 11:40:59 pm
The album was mixed in the same studio as last time, but mastered in a different one. This time, it was mixed in Studio Fredman and mastered in a studio called Tailor Maid.

As for the merch and stuff... It seems our latest batch of tees weren't very popular so maybe we did something wrong. We overestimated the people who would want a "sid"-related t-shirt, cause it seems there aren't that many after all. So we'll go for something more accessible in the future, like the "ELITE" tee which was very popular. Who knows, maybe we'll bring it back to life. ;)

Stuff that's in the shop WILL go away. If you are planning on getting something, and don't get it ... We don't know that. :) From our perspective, it would seem not a lot of people are interested, regardless how many are _planning_ to buy it.

So with time, less popular items will disappear and we'll try to bring in new stuff and see how it is received. Sorry if anyone missed a chance with something, but we can't have a big selection. We can't keep all prints and just expand, we don't have time, room or the money for such an operation. We need to keep it small to be able to do it.

I actually made a topic on the forum a long time ago to try and get you guys in number 3 and there were actually more people who knew about you than I thought, but it didn't really get anywhere. I think I'll try and contact the publisher when I get a chance and see if they bother replying. :)

Oh yeah forgot to mention I uploaded Fury (thanks Alix) for them to listen to but only a few people even bothered. I just remember one guy saying your voice was worse than Axl's, which I completely disagree with. :P

If I remember correctly, Neversoft was able to get labeling rights to a majority of the Recording companies, which I'm pretty sure included Spinefarm.  I'm digging into research now to see if its true.  Now, onto my question.  Hmmm, a bunch of my random questions have been answered.  Gotta think on this one.  Eh, what's your favorite Movie Genre?  Horror, Action, Drama, Comedy?  Also, in addition to that, what is your favorite current movie and favorite movie of all time?

Yeah you're the man! If MaSu was in GH I think I'd die. Hopefully they will pay attention to my e-mails too.

I think the songs that would work best are Fury, Kaori Stomp, or Return to Snake Mountain, mainly because with the solos and overall guitar rhythm they would go along with the game well. If you do end up in the game, please make it one of those songs and I will love you forever (not that I already don't ;))
Title: Re: Questions/Answers
Post by: WalmartSecurity on January 15, 2008, 07:10:06 am
I'd play any song, cause cmon, it's MaSu, and cmon, it's GH3/Rock band.

put them together and you get a lethal dose of elite.

btw I vote for Skin, as the song used. then again... you guys could maybe have your own 3 pack if you're lucky... or... a full album, like some bands are doing for rock band.

Question, if any of you (band members) could choose the songs yourself, which 1 (or 3) would it be?
Title: Re: Questions/Answers
Post by: cloudstrifex on January 15, 2008, 07:52:53 am
Yeah but think about how they would be incorporated into the game. The three I mentioned would probably be the most fun/challenging in terms of playing them on the guitar. And if it absolutely had to be from Overworld I'd pick Violator, but I don't see any reason they wouldn't want to use their older album material. I still stand by my original three.

Sweet! I'll be sure to send an e-mail over to Activision and Harmonix about this  ;D

I can't say I've got any particular picks for songs I'd want to see but given that Player One is my favourite I'll go with that, but the thought of having the whole of Redeemer to rock out to on guitar/drums would just blow my tiny British mind ;)

EDIT: I've just fired an e-mail off to Harmonix, Activision and Neversoft. Hopefully someone will read it, listen to you guys and realise as I did that MaSu in their games is a great idea!

i will manage a concert for yours here as soon as possible :P

Listening to the songs I came to think of a few questions that bugged me a great deal. So, here goes.
First of all, I presume that some song names are based of off game titles ( Sid Icarus = Kid Icarus, Need for Steve = Need for Speed), is this correct?

Bocom is right. You'll only be able to have your question answered about that part of that song after the official release.

Of course! And Stand = Rock Band! It's all so obvious now!

Well we know rob is thinking about it.

So my question, destined to wither away and die for lack of sustenance, is the following: what direction next? overworld was to be the dry crunchy album, and wild success ensued. how does the band feel inspired now? orchestrally? harmonically? gothically?

like doing a bunch of rearrangements of old webography classics to make some easy moneys? *cough*

Anywho, my question:

If I ordered a couple shirts with my Overworld preorder, are they going to ship seperately or will they all ship together once Overworld is released?

It's true that the songs that didn't make it on the album weren't really any good at all. They seemed to have great potential when we were making them but when we reached completion it just became apparent that "dang, these tracks truly suck", and by that I mean "suck", not "oh, maybe not so good".

One song was kinda cool, so who knows, hehe... But two of them were fubar.

Some fun and funky answers so far, but I'm curious: Who comes up with the videos? That is, does someone from Spinefarm come down and say "this shot and this theme will sell" or do you say to spinefarm "we think this would look great as a video"?

I'm aware the process is probably two way, so who gets final say?

The director gererally controls the way a film is made and what's shown in frame or not.
This time Johan Hannu presented us with a concept. We agreed to shoot it. Spinefarm agreed to fund it.
We (the band) had very little to do with the script, but ofc we read it before we agreed to do anything.

Wow I actually got an e-mail back for MaSu being in GH. I also asked about Wii DLC since I might get GH3 for Wii. It reads:

Hello, thank you for contacting Activision Customer support. What an AWSOME suggestion. I will pass this along to the appropriate parties for consideration.

In regards to DLC, we cannot comment on any unreleased updates, DLC or patches nor do we have this information. Keep checking our website and various game messageboards for information on any game updates.

In the meantime, keep rockin!

I think they need to learn how to spell awesome. :P

Well obviously but then again I wasn't really hoping for anything more. At least we know it's a possibility. I think Machinae should try and contact Neversoft or Activision themselves if they really want to make it in the game. I mean come on, An Endless Sporadic made it into GH3 and they only had two of their three songs recorded at the time, with the third being Impulse recorded specifically for Guitar Hero.

And why MachinAe? Any connection with Japanese?

I'll give my answers. Band, please correct me if I am wrong. :P

First of all, I think Robert is the songwriter, and he has always been the "main" songwriter, of almost every song.

I'd say because they believe that they call themselves Machinae Supremacy because they believe machines are superior to human beings, because they, robots that is, lacks the human flaws that is needed for controlling and ruling a perfect world. The old image of the band (when Kahl was still in the band), pictured the Band as machines. Again, I might very well be wrong. :)

It has, with almost guaranteed certainty, no connection to Japanese. It is more connected to Latin, where the word for machine is "machina". Then I don't know, add an "e" at the end, and it can still be pronounced in English. :P

I only answer questions I find interresting.
Bocom and other forum members can answer the standard questions, like "why MaSu" and stuff.
Ofc MaSu has a different context depending on how you use the words, but Bocom's answer is a nice one imo. I would prolly add something like "what can you do with your computer" or something, but the machine-emotionless answer suits just fine =)

And "connection to japanese" I'd say something like we know a girl named Chica (spelling?).. I don't think that we have any connection beyond the obviuos -Lyrics and Musical influences. So here is a bullshit answer more fitting.. so here goes:

My dad's got a mecha parked behind the house which I use to travel to *eh* Mospaeda... oh and I speak out of sync, because I'm born in the 70's and the dubbing was not really flawless back then.

Welcome! It's nice to hear you liked the album.

Can't really answer for the band, but I do know a bit.

1. There are definite cyperpunkish undertones on the album. I suspect that some inspiration has been derived from the comic Rob is working on.

2. I'm personally crossing my fingers and hoping they'll be showing up in Trondheim this fall or something. It would be awesome.

Why does UMG keep producing crap when what they really need are bands like MaSu to save they're ass.
MaSu is signed with SpineFarm which is a subsidiary of UMG.

Me and my friend are excellent MaSu fans. We see beauty in the lyrics and music. A certain song in a past album and one in the  most recent album stand out to us though.

Tempus Fugit is extremely epic. There's hardly any other way to describe it. Badass, maybe.

Reading the lyrics to Overworld release 'Dark City', we've been wondering if these songs are connected in any way lyrically. If it was an accident or a new strain of ideas.

I would like feedback from a band member if possible on this, or it will never rest in our heads.  ;)

Thanks a lot.

Snake Mountain is a place in Luleå.

I am interested in spreading your music, because in our country you're not known as well as you can be. Ofcourse, there are a lot of fans, but it could be much more better with more information.  I have written your biography in our language and now I had an idea about interview.

I am never late for rehearsal and Tompi don't need beer, he just like beer and why not take a few to start the mandatory party after a gig a bit early? =P
Can you name all the characteristics from the band?

FOR EXAMPLE : Dezo always comes too late for rehearsals or thomas needs minimal 1 beer before a show, whatever..  ;D
Hopefully somewhat clearer :D

Well, we are all quite complex individuals.
I really don't want to give you characteristics here on the forum.
I think that's something you should experience for yourself when you meet us.
You should already have realized who I am, and if you have been with the forum from the start you should already know a lot of the others as well... except Jonne ofc =P

Dark City is a song about our hometown Luleå.
Snake Mountain is a place in Luleå.
We got a fortress underneath (see cryosleep vid).

Intriguing. Vid link or it never happened. ;)

What is the story behind the Cryosleep vid (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxrAQC-wCOA)? Art project, just a music video, or something else entirely? Can we consider it a sort-of-official music video? I've asked before, I think, but I can't remember the answer, so I ask again.

Split the Cryosleep video discussion posts and moved it to Pics & Vids (http://forum.machinaesupremacy.com/index.php/topic,5946.0.html).

the answer was to a question asking if there was already a place to get flac versions, whereas the new question asks if they would consider sometime in the future releasing flac versions....still unlikely but none the less, different questions.

If yes, were it possible to have it as 2-disc edition, 1st disc being remakes of webography?

a lot of artists end up with more songs than they plan to feature on an album.
some artists release these on a b-sides and extras record.

are there some tracks not featured on albums that you guys have laying around?
are they awesome but weren't included in an album because of theme incompatibility? (Like Ghost was originally before the retail version featured it).

if so: are there plans on releasing them in any format?

This has been discussed before, though I cannot remember in what thread. General response to the idea was favorable, but I do not recall any kind of committed response from the band...

Still, on that note, I'd be very much in favor of being able to build your own "Mix" CD out of lossless recordings of select web-released songs.

i think the end result on that discussion was that although people would like it, they'd prefer the band to focus on creating new material rather than promoting ye olde.

im not saying they should do a remix or something like that though. i would just like the files in lossless quality, and if that means getting them on a burned cd then id be happy with that. a cd doesnt cost that much, and neither would postage. say 50sek, and they got a deal. (im not sure with how many cds it would require though).

no focus would be taken from new material.

But it would take focus. First of all, they would need to remaster the tracks. Then, they'd need to send all the copies, if more than one person would want it.

And I still don't think that they would do all that if only one person would do it. They have claimed several times that they are very busy people.

In my humble opinion, they need to focus on new material, instead of trying to promote their old stuff.

Don't get me wrong, I'd want it as much as the next fan, but I'd rather get new material than a rehashed/remastered old track,

ah, ok. well, if thats the problem then i agree, they shouldnt waste any time with that. but if they do have the lossless files left, i think they should at least think about it. if they need someone to help distribute the files (at the price of cds+postage) then i think there are plenty of fans that would be willing to help, myself included.

Ok, so I have a question and an request for the band.
I have been listening to "Masugn" a lot recently, and are really fond of the music, aswell as the few lines of lyrics I can hear.
I have been trying to Google for them, but I can't find anything, not even the slightest hint that they ever existed.
What I am looking for, is lyrics. (<-- Hint for request)

I have been searching the forums, and all I could find, was an old thread, which revealed lyrics for one song and an interesting quote from Rob, saying something with; "It's best if you don't know-".
Now, this only made me more interested, and therefore, I am kindly asking the band, or someone else, to post a link, or PM me with lyrics. (<-- Request)

And the question is, what the hell is "Masugn" anyway? (<-- Question)

I guess, but the company is dead, some companies release all their shit if they just up and give up. Wait for the band to answer?

EDIT: It wasn't just their company either though, it was more than just the band in Hubnester - it was a group effort between a few friends and likeminded people.

Robert has responded to the general request for Masugn lyrics many many times with a sound "NO.". The only Masugn track that ever had any lyrics released was Hostiles. IIRC, the reasoning on refusing to release any others was general embarrasment over the songs and lyrics as well, among other reasons. It was a side project, as much a "screw around and have fun" as FLAK.

This also has been answered, though it was by Dezo. Any musics produced by Hubnester Industries are still and always were property of Hubnester Industries, and as of this question being answered there were no plans to release them.

I'm also not 100% sure H.I. is actually "dead".

I think a few users have guesses as to the lyrics with some degree of accuracy. Whether you could pry those from them or not is not my concern, unless you succeed, in which case I want them as well = P.

There were also some live recordings and (low quality) videos circulating at one time, but I forget the site I got them from (hosted by a forum member, I don't even know if it still exists), so I can't help you there.

Well, I doubt the contract the band has states that they're not allowed to release songs on the net, but I suspect they'll mostly work on new songs to be included on albums. However, it is not uncommon that some songs are left out of an album simply because they do not fit the theme of that album, so we might get to see some of those again.

Or maybe another song spurred on by world events, such as Legion of Stoopid was.

DISCLAIMER: Despite my status as your Moderator-Overlord, I am not privy to any special information on this subject. The above is the most I would expect the band to do (e.g. I don't think they'll make a random song just to post it on the net).

Yeah, Jonne has the Jackson Kelly KE2 (http://img344.imageshack.us/img344/9670/img0768sk0.jpg), Rob has the Custom EMG81 Fender FatStrat (http://img477.imageshack.us/img477/4822/img0771sh9.jpg) and i think Gordon has a Jackson MG Series DXMG Dinky (http://www.jacksonguitars.com/products/search.php?partno=2910103544) (It's a long shot though, going off an old blurry picture).

EDIT: Gordon now uses a Gibson Les Paul. Awesome!

We're open to such things, we've even talked many times about doing it with Inja, but in a way that's redundant because we can already get Erica to sing for us whenever we want. :)

However, who knows. It's possible, depends on who, when and where.

-Nope. You'd haf to meet us in person to get signed stuff.

how do you think of bands who *try* to cover you?

-To have others play our music totally rawks =) Listen to the lyrics of radio future and then try to imagine our take of ppl making fanvids and stuff (we <3 it)

you guys need your own guitar signature merch..

 -Agreed.

gieeev masu picks, guitar belts and little stickers i can put on my amp :D

-we'll try to make some products that you actually can afford... that's always the biggest problem with making small scale orders.

every time dezo responds to a question it doesn't mean you have to reply to him with more unnecessary questions. the fact his answers are fairly short should give you a small hint that he'd rather you thought out what you wanted to ask first.

(1) On hubnester inc, ye guys had a bunch of JnG outtakes and hammered them into a song. Any chance of doing stuff like that with old DXM, Redeemer, or Overworld stuff?

(2) Have ye ever had guest musicians play, we'll say. Like Ozzy Osbourne taking over Rob's vocals for a song. If not, who would ye like to have a crack at it?

(3) Do you still keep in touch with the ex members?

(4) Any chance you'll make it to Ireland any time soon? There will be free pints... :)

(5) Weird one, and its kinda old... Snake Mountain on DXM. Rob wrote once that he was inspired by what happened to someone. who was it?

(6) Is Spinefarm "happy" with Overworld? So they "like" MaSu?

(4) Any chance you'll make it to Ireland any time soon? There will be free pints... :)

(5) Weird one, and its kinda old... Snake Mountain on DXM. Rob wrote once that he was inspired by what happened to someone. who was it?

(6) Is Spinefarm "happy" with Overworld? So they "like" MaSu?

1-6: I'll let some other bandmember answer this q:s.

Q: is the next masu album goinng to have a theme like overworld???

Definitly! It'll rawk something fierce and it'll be a bit different as usual. (ie not like the last album.)

Snake mountain.. about Jonnes experiences there, while working one summer, methinks.

Could be wrong, but I don't think so.

'Cause I don't know anything about how all that stuff works - if the radio stations can play any song they like, if it has to be a single and so on.. :P
bandit hardly ever play songs which haven't been released as singles..? =/

That's because the songs released as singles often are the most popular ones. If you get your wish through, they can play any song they have.

do you really mean "evidence" or just "trace?"

if the latter.... not so far as i know.

it pisses me off. they deserve some  mainsteam attention. overworld was amaze.

I don't think it's such a bad deal... Certainly nobody's promising me that they'll support my hopes and dreams for 5 years at the low end. When the contract expires, it's probably just time for a conversation within the band, the label, and between the two to see if they want to keep it up. If for some reason one or the other party doesn't want to, well then they'll deal with it when they get there, and I can't say i'm too worried about how machsup will fare without a record label.

If you want to see me headbanging, just come to a gig!

Damn! I just want it! But what gigs?
New album out! But no "Overworld tour" for support, or am I wrong? It might be, but I don't see anything everywhere! Practically no promo-activities (ok, in Luleå and the like - but is this enough??, maybe you guys are only waiting and preparing for any "summer huge-tour surprise", in the given case I'm really looking forward to it)

"2008 .02. 29

PITEÃ…, SWE
Folkets hus
"Nordic Rage" Fest,"

Guys, what's the problem? New label - new possibilities, MORE possibilities... (or not?) :'(

I'm really sorry, if any similar accusation was there, but I'm desperate, I can't drive it out of my mind... ???

But what's wrong? I expected that new label (Spinefarm wow! Nightwish, Children of Bodom, Sonata Arctica and other notorious bands...) helps with these things and you strike up any tour for "new-album-support" - support for album which I can buy in local store. Nothing happened :-(

It could be local problem - with no-merchandise in Czech republic or Slovakia but...how nice would it be if my beloved band Machinae Supremacy run tour with any other Scandinavian metal band across whole Europe ?  ;)

I just want to see you, guys! I want to headbanging when hard bass-riffs in Hate struck! I want to sing with Gaz when Skin graduates, I want to buy ofc signed merch and I just want kiss you because of your absolutely flawless music !   >:D ;)

I'd say that it's a local problem. Local venues probably don't want to host some "mainstream-unknown" band. Sorry guys, but it's the truth.

I say: Give it more time. There will (hopefully) be a time where we all have headbanged with them at least once. :)

Aye. EBS is the only thing I need.
The EBS Fafner has the best comressor in the world imo... It suits my way of playing/grinding perfectly and the distortion is very flexible which in the end means that I don't haf to use effects. I'm thinking about adopting some other effects tho, and ofc they will be of EBS branding.

Also, EBS is a great company and my contact there is like "Born to rawk".
It's very easy to be proud of such a sweet endorsement deal. EBS has win and awesome! =)

Are you guys going to try to get a song in Guitar Hero IV? I've already written Neversoft and suggested MaSu for GHIII dlc. I think you should try to contact them if you haven't. Bugger the next album.
My thirst has been quenched for the next 2 years after Overworld.

What I want to know is will there ever be another lesser spotted Instrumental on any future album?

Cos in my opinion, Machinae Prime was by far the best damn SID instrumental that had real ooomph and soul to it as compared to any of the others.

I mean, will we ever see the likes of them again?

I have to agree.
as much as I love and still love  Overworld, the lack of a classic Machinae Supremacy power instrumental was a bit of a disappointment.

Redeemer didn't technically have one either, but Empire had simple and sparing enough lyrics to count for me.

Well I have a serious question!

Are you guys going to try to get a song in Guitar Hero IV? I've already written Neversoft and suggested MaSu for GHIII dlc. I think you should try to contact them if you haven't. Not only would it help with popularity but it would just be awesome to play a song like Return to Snake Mountain or something in GH. :)

That would be truly awesome. ;D
Altough that has been brought up several times if I'm not mistaken...

You have to be retardedly popular to get a song in GH.. Like, Linkin Park popular. (It made me so mad they got a song in a guitar-based videogame. >>; )
Although I'd love to see it any day of the week.

Btw, this question might've been asked before, but I didn't have the time to check.
Are you guys ever planning on doing any sort of US tours?

If they put a crappy song like Red Lottery by an unknown band in the game I'm sure they'd put MaSu in.

This is more of a musical question, but here goes.

How did you get that weird compressed sound at the end of Steve's Quest? (I've heard it elsewhere in masu songs, but this was the song that came to mind.)

Also, how do you produce the static in your songs? Is it a long sample, or is it produced by the band or an amp or something?

How did you come up with the idea to put a metroid sample in the end of "Stand"?

Who is Steve? Seriously! Is it just a random name, or does it/he have a meaning?

1, 'cos Metroid is awesome.
2, random average name to reflect random average people - i.e. random average person A can become a hero if s/he really fights for it. [Question's been asked at least twice before]

Aha. Thanks for those answers. :)

Does the Trinity symbol that Machinae Supremacy uses so much have a hidden meaning deep within? O_O

Does the Trinity symbol that Machinae Supremacy uses so much have a hidden meaning deep within? O_O

Quote from: Wikipedia
The Trinity is a Christian doctrine, stating that God is one being who exists, simultaneously and eternally, as a mutual indwelling of three persons:[1] the Father, the Son (incarnate as Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. Since the beginning of the third century[2] the doctrine of the Trinity has been stated as "that the one God exists in three Persons and one substance, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit".[3] Trinitarianism, belief in the Trinity, is a mark of Oriental and Eastern Orthodoxy, Roman Catholicism and all the mainstream traditions arising from the Protestant Reformation, such as Anglicanism, Lutheranism and Presbyterianism; and the Trinity has been described as "the central dogma of Christian theology".[3]

My money's on that they thought of this. Or at least that it's something religious.
Parody maybe?

Torp and I have reached a decision to lock this thread. The reason is the extraordinary amount of useless comments not directly related to the topic on hand (QUESTIONS, damnit - not spam), as well as a growing quantity of pointless questions, coupled with a steady decline of actual answers to those pointless questions (band members not answering your question may be a pretty good indicator that they thought so too).

Therefore, I pronounce my sentence of lockage and de-stickification!
