I cannot see why this is obvious. 5% of the population is gay or bisexual, and I cannot remember any statements from you that decidedly excluded you from this group.

Not that that's important. Good luck, mate. Have a fun time. Ignore the crazy people claiming she's an alien, has no pulse, or is a ladyboy.

I don't know about you but I like love things. Sheer idea of someone feeling those passionate feelings, burning cold and hot waves, thunder like pounding of the heart like it could jump out of chest and how every inch of body and soul becomes so sensitive that even raindrop (physical or immaterial) feels like stab of the knife... It makes me happy. Now that I read that sentence 'bout how love feels it does not seem so tempting feeling at all... But it surely feels nice. And when I read or think 'bout others having loveblast I feel so great!

LOVE IS A BEAUTIFUL THING!

He isnt, he never is.
I'm just happyhappyhappy! I feel GRRRRRrrrrrrrrreeeeat! Me okay? Never. In the world like this who could be okay and still be happy? Majority? Oh well, that was bad example.

I'll think something else. Let me see...

Sorry.

Could not think anything else. I have only word to say. LOVE. That's it, bro. LOVE.

Pure and simple, yet sophisticated method to overclock your system to lightspeed. Race your heart and crash your lovebumpers, baby! Love is in the air, don't you see? There's plenty of love existing in the world, only thing you have to do is catch it. Twisted, tainted, passionate, burning, platonic, pure and holy... You name it. Just drink it. Love potion number magic... Jut let it seduce you!

You know what is the saddest thing? I'm bursting, nay, I'm burning with love. I breath I scream love with my every cell. Lovethunder. That would be suitable name for me. Nutcase would be other but that's not my point. My point is... What my point is? Yes! YES! Just think about this : you have to deal only with my digital version of love... Just think about my wife, my lovetarget, my sweet little honey bunny... She has the full load, big bear hugfull of passionate love! Just think of her. Not many can withstand flood of love like this.

I feel like singing!

"Lovethunder
Knocking at your door
Lovethunder
Rocking up your room

Do not trust in locks and chains
Lovethunder melts your brains
Do not trust in what you see
Lovethunder is the key!

Lovethunder
Knocking at your door
Lovethunder
Rocking up your room!"

I always imagine it must be.

Look at all the music, all the literature, all the movies, all the crazy shit you see people do for love...
all of it.

the inspiration is creates must be something of a different level.

Sometimes when I truly love a song, I imagine that if I can feel that for a person and have it be mutual that that is what love is like.

If a person could give me chills when I even think of them.  I can only imagine :).

I feel sorry for you, Sirix, and at the same time I wonder if you're not lucky. I used to think, for some years, I couldn't feel much of it myself either, but I was proven wrong. The happiness as the love seemed to be two-way was fantastic. It was bliss. The fear when I started suspecting it was only me was not as good. And the feeling when I found the truth was just cruel.

Now, I'm sort of lucky, because I don't easily fall in love. It's not that uncommon that I get an interest in a girl, see potential in one, but I seldomly really fall in love. I think there's been maybe three or four girls that I really got that feeling about. And only one of these has been within the last 3 years or so (yep, I've only fallen in love once so far in my studies).
Title: Re: MAGIC IN LOEV~
Post by: Cerapter on August 07, 2007, 06:45:18 pm
To gain something, you must sacrifice something, too. This is very often valid in the case of love. Without it, you can live a simpler and possibly happier life, though empty. With too much of it, there might be much desperation and evil also, and memories you don't want.

I've fallen in love three times. The first was puppy love, the second was worth it but didn't last and I haven't forgiven myself for it; now I'm at it again, and already my life seems more complicated and corrupted, even before there's been any confrontation.

The world would be slightly more blissful of people were able to enjoy life fully without a significant other, like children do. But such a life slowly drives us to insanity. It's a pity.

No need for cheering, friends!

It's precisely as Cerapter said.
being single can, indeed, be quite wonderful.

As I am right now I am very very happy with life.
Of course I do get spurts of loneliness, but they are short and far between.
I have so many friends that I hardly have time for a relationship anyway.

I've actually broken up with someone in the past because the person was keeping me from seeing my friends as
often as I usually did.

But I am the same as you Sirix, I hardly think about any of this stuff at the moment because I've been doing some other things to keep my mind off it, but then there are the days when the feeling just over powers my will power and I spend half the day feeling a bit down and the other half at the pub.

I think the key is to not be as silly as to, say, do something like acclaim to "never date again!"
but, rather, to merely not look.  Let whatever happen just happen.  That way you can enjoy your life and are still in decent odds of meeting someone.

Her name is Caroline.

She's actually a lot like me; we're alike enough that we see each others viewpoints and respect them, but different enough we can actually discuss them. She can best me in an argument about half the time, which I absolutely adore. She's packed with trivia and is into a lot of off-the-wall things, so talking with her is never boring.

To be perfectly honest, she's not that great looking. But she is cute, in a Janis Joplin rough sort of way.

We met at the supermarket. We wanted the same watermelon.

Well... they matter some, because physical attraction is always a good thing and really helps in first impressions, but in the long run... everyone's body starts to sag. I want someone whose mind won't.

Yeah...physical attraction only really has two important values: true or false. As long as it is true, then the degree of physical attraction is less important than the other attractions.

Something that might skewer my opinion there is that I have no problem finding girls I'm physically attracted to, but I seldomly meet girls that I feel has the potential for something more*.

As for supermarkets and watermelons, that is really an awesome way to meet someone. It's also probably a lot better a way than meeting at, say, a club.

*interestingly, many of these are far from the pinnacle of physical attraction. Most end up in the department of "cute". One could theorise that cute girls therefore generally have more personality, though I would be somewhat hesitant to accept such a theory based on anectdotal evidence. It might just as well be that there are more cute girls around than there are "beautiful"**, and so I naturally meet more cute girls with that certain something (which I still have not been able to identify what is - I have a suspicion it's a mixture of personality and quite possibly chemistry).

**I'm not sure if that's the right word to use. See Gravehills posts in the Enquiry thread for some thought on that word. Just a high physical attractiveness sort of fail to cover the meanings of that word.

i think in a longterm relationship, you have to be remotely attracted to them physicly. its not essential, but as said, it helps. but on the whole, personality and them overall as a person is what you should go for. :)

That is correct.

Sometimes as Magic Man was telling me, if it seems to be too good to be true it probably is : p Watch out for perfect ones !

However, to all those with comments on physical attraction, without physical attraction people would never catch each other's  eyes from across a room at a party, a bar, a supermarket, etc.

And one beautiful thing about physical attraction is personal taste.
Everyone has different tastes... so even if you're slightly odd looking or even out-right unnattractive, there's definitely someone out there that you'll be actually physically attracted to and will reciprocate it with you.

Yes, but an initial minimum amount of physical attraction must be present for you to start going down that road. Usually, this minimum amount would be set to "attracted", though there are probably instances were there was no real physical attraction at the start. Still, there's a minimum treshold - You can't be physically repulsed by the person.

Other than that, I'm in complete agreeance that other things are more important.

Another strange phenomenon I've noted - I tend to find girls more physically attractive after having been exposed to them for a period of time. It seems like familiarity smooths out flaws while not negatively affecting positive characteristics, or something along those lines.

Sirix makes quite the same point. But I probably started writing this before him, on account of my post being longer and his post not being posted when I started writing. He has a point about personal taste and physical attraction, though it's not as good as one could think. Even after accouting for personal taste, there are still some base characteristics that are the same for almost all of these. There are some bizarre exceptions, but mostly our image of beauty is oddly similar, despite me liking girls with weird hairdos and haircolours and you despising that, while some can't get it on with girls who weigh less than him, and others want their girls fashion-model thin.

Though, very few people are outright unattractive, all variations in taste considered.

I feel I must chime in here, because I think there's something odd with how people are considered physically attractive to me.

Like Sirix says, it's personal taste. But I think I have weird personal taste? I've never found most "classically attractive" girls attractive, and with the girls I see most guys hooting and hollering over, I'll give them a passing glance and think "meh".

I think that I'm physically attracted to girls that look like they'll have personalities I'll like, if that makes sense.

If a girl looks shy, or intelligent, or has a kind of artsy aspect about them, those are the ones that catch my eye. A decent conversation means much more to me than physical attraction, I guess. As others have said, having some is always nice, and perhaps even necessary for a relationship to work... but:

agreed with Alix. physical attractions is all well and good, but generally the more you love them, the more sexy they are :)

I don't think that's any more true than with me.

There will be the occasional girl that I'll find myself lusting after, but I don't usually envision any kind of chemistry past that lust, with them (and I certainly doubt they'd feel the same towards me).

relating to not being "instantly" attracted to a person.

I agree entirely

for example, Six Feet Under.
The character of Claire Fisher (http://membres.lycos.fr/brouillonsix/hpbimg/claire%201.jpg)
At first I found her odd, clunky, bulgy... not attractive.
but the end of the fifth season I could never help but look at her and think she was GORGEOUS.
like, BEAUTY.

Seems like Magic really did get lucky! I'm happy for you, that seems really interesting, fun and promising start for relationship you have there.

What's said about female beauty before in this thread I agree mostly. I find myself too getting excited and aroused over females who are not like you usually see in fashion magazines and similar. I don't prefer the ones media keeps "beautiful" and who are promoted on "sexiest of the world" or "miss world" lists and so on. I do prefer personality, naturality and functionality in mental and physical side. Modern athlete bodies are generally too tuned up for my taste. I can't get excited over models either as most of them are just skin and bones. I prefer certain softness in females. Some athletes and thin females can have this "softness" in them but it's really rare. Just google words "Rubens" and "woman" and you'll see female bodytype I prefer. That's about physical side.

About psychological side I must say that it's more important than physical side. When I was teenager I hoped that I would find perfect woman. My hopes were not in her looks but in her spirit, soul and personality. Size doesn't matter, it's how that person fills that size. I generally prefer females who laugh and smile, are talkative, funny and intelligent. And paradoxal. That paradoxal component was the main thing I hoped for my future companion. Combination of modesty and proudness, intelligence and foolishness, humour and deep thoughts, virtue and sensualism. What I've found out at later age is that I do prefer certain androgynous elements in personality (most likely because I have that side in my own personality as well). I like delicate combination of strength and weakness. She must have large and strong both mind and heart... And at the same time she must be small and something I can embrace and protect.  I have found out that when this psychological profile does match I do find those females attractive even when they are not physically exactly my type. But that doesn't work other way around.

When it comes to my wife she is both physically and psychologically just perfect for me. She is beautiful but not the "modern way". I guess my prayers were heard back then :D

Anyone got tips?

Wait until you're older.

1. Be funny.
2. Be really funny, not iggman/xodian/iggman funny.
3. Observe.
4. Act nice, though don't hesitate to express your harsh opinions.
5. Stop writing text messages, just meet.
6. Don't call her a "girl", call her a "woman" (yeah, even if she's 11 like you)
7. Don't be EMO if things doesn't work out.
8. Grow up.
9. DON'T ever dare to tell her that you love her/fell in love with her/whatever, until you really know it's the right moment. Like, in 5 years.
10. Don't be all over on her, duh, even try to ignore her a bit. If she feels ignored and she likes you, she'll start making her own moves.
11. Keep lots of secrets to tell her one sometimes. She'll be like "oh, so i'll tell you my secret: i was raped by a horde of mutant Michael Jacksons from the outer space". Then you'll get closer and closer.

13. Don't ever tell her, that you were seeking love advice on some metal band's internet forum.

And simply: get her out for a walk, then tell some stories, etc. That always works for me. The thing is, you should consider her character and not be so hot on "oh i'm gonna have a girlfriend" thing. You know, girlfriends are good things, but only if you know how to handle them and they are not controlling you.
I think you're really into "woohoo i'm gonna get a kiss" stuff. But remember - if you have a girlfriend, you can't flirt with other girls - and since you're relatively young, you should keep having fun just talking with girls, not getting them. You also should set your wanted girl type. I prefer intelligence over beauty, but you can't push it to the limit. You know, I won't get some scary face to be mi señorita just because she's smart.

And think if you really want her to be a part of your future. Like me - i know some very, very cool girls, but i'm not desperate about them, just because i will be a rock/rap star and will have plenty of groupies, so i will have a big variety of girlfriends to choose from, you know.

Here you go (http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=define:move&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8). One of those ought to be useful.

Seriously, though, what I'm saying is that you shouldn't be afraid to actually do something indicating that you're interested in the girl. Act on your wants. But don't go all in saying "I love you". Small signs.

Go check out Fast Seduction (http://www.fastseduction.com/) or something. Read that guide. It got a few pretty good tricks to initiate and gauge reactions.

I have never been in love... That sucks.

You're way too young to even understand what love is
I'm 21 and I still don't understand what love is.

It must be stressing to think about girls so often, dude.
Just enjoy life... being 14 can be great if you don't get mixed up with girls.

If you can't control yourself though, I'm going to reiterate that I believe that just letting things happen instead of forcing them to happen is a better method.
Just hang out with the girl you like and eventually, maybe, you'll end up slowly creeping hands towards one another's during a movie or something.

But seriously, go play some video games or go skateboarding, guy.

No I'm joking, but I dont think it is good to play since I win over everyone... Not good.

Proven!

And also, if a girl can kick my ass at anything I am instantly attracted to them.

Yup, me to :P So hot if a girl plays ;D

scenario #5: (the one that ideally should occur)

iggman: let's play the european version of Ico because it's a fantastic game enjoyed by both sexes and the euro ver lets two people play at once and it's totally awesome
girl: kay

AND THEN THEY FALL IN LOVE AND PLAY ICO FOREVER AND EVER

AND EVER

Hahaha, dont have game/console >_<
And I dont think I am gonna invest ~4000kronor for a girl ;)

If she does you must really suck ass ;D

thats a rather sexist comment actually.

I go with my personal experience that there are no female gamers, not here atleast :P

But that's the nature of being a young teenager! You're supposed to think that you're 'big' now and can do what you want. It's kind of like being over 18, without any of the laws on your side.

Two months till 15 >_< I am big! Not a little boy anymore!  :-X
At 15 I will have a laptop ;D

The other guy is probably just unusually mature.

I remember several forum members being pretty Iggy-ish when they were his age.

Also, you can probably stop this discussion now. Berating Iggmans for his lack of maturity* is getting old, and is really rather immature.

*which isn't far off what's normal for an average 14-15 years old kid, even if we have numerous examples of more mature kids of the same age. The only really immature aspects I see is a tendency to take things too seriously and a tendency not to like being called immature. Really, you're goading him into acting the way he does, and it won't end until you stop doing so when he slips up. He's gotten a lot better.

Right, so, morale lesson over. Back to discussing Mägik in løøv!

I think because there's actually damn good stuff going on here (igg bashing aside)

and even if this is still off-topic, i'd like to address that no matter how old you feel within your community, 15 is definitely still a kid.
in fact, 18 is still a kid.  I'm just recently starting to consider myself not a "kid", and I'm 21 in a very very short period of time.
And I'd still not get insulted if someone who was 30 or 40 called me a kid.
I am a kid in comparison to them, especially if they've led a life of experiences.

I always think I'm so mature, but then at the end of segments of time I think back and am surprised how much I've matured in certain aspects.  Just this summer I matured quite a bit, in fact.

don't take being a kid as a bad thing Igg... being a kid is a great thing.
now, like I said before, stop thinking of girls and go PLAY for cripes sake.

allright, im going to say this very very plainly and blunt, DO NOT GO FOR THE "SO-CRAZY-SHES-FUN-GIRL" it will just end in tears, and her leaving you to have a sex change and get engaged to your best friend from when you were 5 who is gay.....true story :P

I just went on 3 dates with a person... and he seemed fine at first.

but then it turns out he's absolutely CRAZY and is absolutely convinced about
1) The world will end -or- BEGIN to end on December 21st 2012
and 2) That his God son is going to be one of the many "dormant" Messiahs to awaken during that time and lead us.

like... i'm not kidding.
he is was absolutely fucking serious.

It was so fucked up.

My god :P Poor you ;)

Yeah, I don't know if anyone here watches Sex and the City, but I feel like the scenarios in that show sometimes.

I don't date often, but there's always something really really fucked up about the person when I do.
something that always makes my eyes go "O.O" and "O.o" all at once.

Lol, how the hell do you even meet them? :P

Say hello to the History Channel!

Or at least, the guy is familiar with a few prophecies.

The Aztecs predicted it, "Merlin" predicted it, and an ancient Chinese book predicts it (through a few somewhat random-seeming calculations). It's not a completely ridiculous theory, but I see no reason to worry about it, since there's nothing we could do to stop it, anyways.

Actually my wife has spoken about that 2012 thing as well. And that there were aliens amongst us. Or, to be precise : she told that kind of theories existed. She does not believe them but she has some... contacts... in circles which believe in such things. Anyways... I've planned to live until I'm 140 years old which would mean that my dying year would be around AD 2117 or something. It's always possible, even probable that I don't live that long but I try my best. World's end at 2012 would ruin my plans big time.

I just had one crazy idea... Just think about what would it be if that "aliens amongst us" thing. It would make great music video.

Just imagine...

Bunch of people are living like average ones... In opening scheme they go to school, work, have normal family life. Intro of the song starts to play, very peacefully.... Then, the morning comes, the moment of dawn. Rays of sunshine comes beyond hills and hits at the roofs of the buildings. Camera focuses on to one house, then one window, finally to bed. There's lovers sleeping in the bed. Sunshine touches feet of the lovers and suddenly there's blue light emitting from other one's forehead and Trinity symbol appears. Person opens up eyes, shocked. Intro stops and rock-part begins. Person rises from the bed and walks to door - camera changes to bathroom. Person inspects the Trinity symbol at forehead and smiles... Camera shifts to front door and shows him/her opening it from inside and stepping outside. He walks to street and keep walking along it. More and more people join him/her, each bearing Trinity symbol. Soon it's impossible to spot him/her from the multitude of followers. They all walk to the hills. Then camera shows hills from greater distance. There's blue flash from the hills that rises towards the space. Then camera shifts back to lovers bed. Lonely person lies there wrapped in his sheets. Wakes up, yawns and stretches. Rises up, goes to the bathroom (similar cutting as in the beginnig) and brushes teeth. Smiles to his/her own reflection. Walks to the living room and opens up television where's only static noise. Camera focus on television and draws nearer until static noise fills whole screen. Fade out.

Would fit Follower like fist in the face... :D

I was thinking more along the lines of Origin.

when what was given is gone
a one-way road to oblivion
and as I fight for just one more breath
I awake to the reality of death

through a mirror of time
I see your reflection
in the image that is me

I won't be around for too long
I too will see oblivion
and as I struggle to hang on
my life will fade until I'm gone

etc ;)

The theoritical saying goes that "In a democratic country one man cannot start a war because it takes too long to run the proposal through all the stages of the goverment" or something like that, cant remember how it really went :P. Some wannabe-wise-person also said "If a country has MacDonalds, the country is too developed to get into a war" :. But anyways, this most likely didnt bring anything to the conversation. And yes, indeed as Sirix said, the president isn't really the dude who makes all the decisions like its in the tv. He is more like the dude who tells the people that "We are gonna attack this country, mmmkay? War is bad, so lets not call it war. Mmmmkay?"

As this is in random, I shall release my random-powers...

Did you know that I have macaroni pants that are held toget with little childrens souls? A lot of people actually don't know that, so thats why I must tell everybody that I absolutely LOVE pie. Mmmkay, cheese tortillas?

Quote from: Wikipedia
The Cuban Missile Crisis began on October 14, 1962, when American U-2 spy planes took photographs of a Soviet intermediate-range ballistic missile site under construction in Cuba. The photos were shown to Kennedy on October 16, 1962. America would soon be posed with a serious nuclear threat. Kennedy faced a dilemma: if the U.S. attacked the sites, it might lead to nuclear war with the U.S.S.R., but if the U.S. did nothing, it would endure the threat of nuclear weapons being launched from close distance. Because the weapons were in such close proximity, the U.S. might have been unable to retaliate if they were launched pre-emptively. Another consideration was that the U.S. would appear to the world as weak in its own hemisphere.

Many military officials and cabinet members pressed for an air assault on the missile sites, but Kennedy ordered a naval quarantine in which the U.S. Navy inspected all ships arriving in Cuba. He began negotiations with the Soviets and ordered the Soviets to remove all "defensive" material that was being built on Cuba. Without doing so, the Soviet and Cuban peoples would face naval quarantine. A week later, he and Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev reached an agreement. Khrushchev agreed to remove the missiles subject to U.N inspections if the U.S. publicly promised never to invade Cuba. Following this crisis, which brought the world closer to nuclear war than at any point before or since, Kennedy was more cautious in confronting the Soviet Union.

Actually, I think I read somewhere that cockroaches probably wouldn't do all that great, mainly because we are the primary reason they're thriving at the moment.

I read it on teh internets though, so there's a risk it's all BS. Maybe the cockroaches will reach a highly advanced and sophisticated level of civilization within years of our demise. And then they'll commit our mistakes all over again and perish in intra-cockroach warfare due to unrestrained use of insecticides. Or something.

Why there is a girl, which I can't bring out from her emo depressed state of mind? I've studied a bit of psychology books, I'm kinda experienced man in that kinda things. But it just won't help. She can just cry, thinking of some jerk that she saw once and met him on IM. OMFGHELPZ0R0R!!!11

If she's that wrapped up in herself, then she's not worth it.

Nah, I mean, she's a good girl. I just want to help her, get her on a straight road again. My possible benefits could be just a dessert, I don't care about them.

I have a friend who was suicidal for years (and who might still be). It can be real hard sometimes to change someone else's mind, especially making them happy. Looking back on all my attempts to help her, I feel embarrassed for a lot of what I said. If it ever helped, I do not know. But I couldn't just stand there and do nothing.

Reading up on psychology isn't the right way. You can't make her become self-conscious and see her own problems when she's in the state she's in. You can't make an objective approach. What she needs is care and compassion, friendly faces who want to help just because.

But that won't necessarily make her healthy and happy again. If she is like that because she's lovesick, then I assure you, mending such is beyond any friend's reach, whatever this friend does to help. Which is not to say that one shouldn't try, though.

Yeah, I have a friend aswell that is in that little emo/nohIamUgly period.
But she is really good looking, sexy aswell... :P
I usually bombard her with compliments and such, and she likes it :P
Well, she doesnt show so much that she likes it, and she is saying against me, so I will say more nice things :)
Sometimes its kinda fun to think about what to say this time :P

So, some people just want to hear compliments, or, just need a friend to cry on your shoulder.
Or just a regular friend, diffrent from person to person :P

I was bored.

She's relatively young, so it could be worse, but the biggest block between our two is her friend. A jealous girl, who's not really approachable. She thinks of me like of a ubermensch, another Jesus or whatever. I'm the master of all her love problems and a boyfriend of her dreams. That's why when I speak to the emo one, the other one get's in the way saying something stupid. And she pisses me off. I was trying to make fun out of her last night and called her Don Midgeto. She cried. LIKE WTF WHY DID SHE CRY FOR CALLING HER NAMES, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE NOT THAT BAD? I was very, very mad after that. She even wanted me to apologize her. I did, to don't look so cold hearted. But no, it wasn't enough for her.

So the question is, how many girls must I kill to seek an audience with the first one I mentioned here (I mean the one with emo problems)?

Its because she doesn't want to be brought out. She likes to wallow in sorrow because it brings back the memories of the guy.. seen it too many times, everytime rings true.

Yeah, you're definitely right, but I need to get some tactics to fight with that kind of behavior. Even the thing that work on other emo problems - rational arguments - don't work this time. I also tried doing it the different way - explaining her, that there are people with bigger personal problems. But it also failed. And I can't get close enough physically to affect her, cause of that crying Don Midgeto guarding her.

Allright, then, i must ask you this : Why do you want to help her if she doesn't want to be helped?
Because you care? Well obviously the only thing she cares about is about the guy. If you're that bound on helping her sorry ass is to give her something to care about.

I don't know how though.

jeez. girls aren't some sort of science you have to study. sometimes all they want is a hug and someone to be there.

Don't lie to us that you understand women. Imagine, if we study them hard enough, we will be one of the worlds first people who understand the "logical thinking" of some girls.

Besides, you can't always rely on hugging when you're not a handsome dude.

Yeah, sometimes you don't even know what are your closest friends capable of. That's the life's element of surprise, I guess.
