Title: Two Amazing Looking Movies - Transformers & 300
Post by: Drakonis on December 20, 2006, 09:49:50 pm
Just wanted to share two trailers with y'all. The first was just released. The first true teaser/trailer for Transformers the Movie. The original was filmed very quickly and does not show any actual movie footage.

This new one is nothing BUT movie footage and runs a decent while. Looks very sexy.

The other is a movie I hadn't heard of until today. It's based off a graphic novel by the guy that did Sin City originally. While it does NOT look like Sin City, it does use almost exclusively background CGI and other cool effects but looks very realistic unlike some simular themed movies. Its based on the Spartans MYTH, not per se what it "might have been". Theres defenitely some fantasy mixed in with it as well.

Click on theatrical trailer.

Just thought I'd share. Two movies I'm excited about.

300 really seemed very promising, like a movie that I have to watch at some point.

300 looks awesome, but I"m worried abou transformers.

Judging by the current trailer it looks to be a "Monster movie" with the transfomers runnign rampant.  i really hope that they are portrayed as more than machines on the rampage...  aFter all, for me at least, part of the appeal of the series was that they had (For 80s cartoons at least)  Pretty well developed characterazaiton.

Fingers still crossed, will still see it htough.

Trying not to get too worked up either way, as it's still a ways off.

I just love how every time someone says Sparta in the trailer they have to really bellow it. I wonder if they do that all the time.

"So I'm planning on going to SPARTA the summer holidays, maybe I'll meet some nice SPARTANS and sample a little bit of SPARTAN culture"

I hope Transformers uses that eeach-ach-ach-aerch sound.

They're not, at least they don't in the trailer.

I know. I was disappointed too.

Have you always been this good at phonetically spelling sounds?

onamonapeta ftw.

onamonapeta eff tee doubleyou would have been funnier...

You're right, but back on topic.

I've had my faith restored by listening to the video interview itht eh Writers of Transformers.  It's good to see that although they're not using exclusively G1 characters they have a love of the whole thing and want to keep the characters true to the source.  That's always reassauring.

now, weather or not they succeed, that's something completely different.

OK... I locked this one. Ask some of the mods with PM when someone actually have seen one or both of the movies and there's something to discuss about them on topic. I made split from thread about funny sounding words in english...
