Title: Licence of your songs ?
Post by: gwarf on November 30, 2003, 03:45:46 pm
Hi, just a question :
Are you music under a special free (or non free) licence ?
I know that your work is copyrighted, but I didn't see anything about a licence.

I wouldn't know. There is no license. We've never really thought about it any further than "ok, so we have a new song, let's put it on our homepage"...

I'd probably say, that the answer to your question is that standard authorship rules apply. If you want to do something other than listen to our music, you better ask us about it.

We get emails all the time from people who ask things like "can we use a song or two for this or that purpose" and we answer how we feel about it.

Perhaps when the album is finished we'll take a look at that license issue a bit more seriously.

OK, thanks, I was just wondering.

A pointer to the fpml licence : http://www.fmpl.org/
It's a GPL-like licence for music :)

This has to be, the biggest revival I've ever seen...

I mean...it's been two (give or a take a couple months) freaking years!

Just goes to show you that no thread ever dies.
