Title: So I got my shit together..
Post by: colonelSTIZZEVE on February 23, 2006, 10:42:23 am
..and made a new SoundClick page.

CHECK IT OUT (http://www.soundclick.com/stevelaporte).

Basically everything I've done (that's worthwhile, anyway) to date, plus links to some of my other [non-serious/messing around in a jocular manner] stuff. Tell me what you think.

Thanks!

You've written a lot of information about you and the music which, I think, is good.
Too bad I can't download a single mp3. I always get the message "This download hasn't been cleared yet. Please check back tomorrow." - so, I will check it out as soon as possible next time ;)

Egh.. Yeah, I forgot about that. You can still listen to the hi-fi streams, though, and those are the same quality as the MP3's [128kbps.. which sucks, yeah, but it's the max for a free account].

Point Blank
Like how the track begins, kinda atmospheric. Nice use of the beatslicer there ( think that's what you used for the drums )!

..A Bitter Resolution
Kill me if this question is stupid: The guitar at the beginning, did you arrange it? Which plug-in did you use for it? Sounds really good.
But that's almost what I like best in this song. The drums are a bit too gentle, maybe another drumkit - and the high synthie-melody is also too quiet in my opinion.

Underlying Truth
Great. Just great. I really like. Listening to that one already lets me imagine the song playing at the beginning of a movie or rpg. ;)

Panic
Stable song. Maybe the deep synth, starting at the beginning, with a bit less pressure. Flanger on the drums fits good. Nice consignation with the bells.

Will listen to your other songs when I've got more time. I'm away this weekend and be back on sunday.
I made up an account on soundclick too and uploaded a track.. nothing special, you can read all about it on the site.

Keep up your stuff, colonelSTIZZEVE.

i really like music that is dark (and creepy and spooky) but also sweet at times. soo... i gotta say man, i'm really diggin your stuff.

..A Bitter Resolution is my fav, simi-aggressive synth mixed with a tribe beat and even some sweet sounding guitar reallly hit the spot. Point Blank and Panic were also very enjoyable. both Inept, Serenity and Underlying Truth are great, very beautiful! as for the stage tracks, well, all are really great not all equal but mostly great.

i sure wouldnt mind having some mp3s of yours... i could really use some more inspiration like this, i just got FL6 and im not very musically inclined, but if i keep at it i might get some things worth while.

Thanks guys.   ;D

The guitar in "..A Bitter Resolution" is a VST instrument. It's MusicLab's RealGuitar. Pretty damn cool plugin, but you need to tweak it a lot to make it shine; I screwed with the EQ and compression pretty heavily using FruityLoops' effects in order for it to acheive that realistic sound.

I like your track 2more, it's a great start and I'm looking forward to hearing more in the future.

HackNeyed: If you don't want to download them off SoundClick, I'll send you some MP3's at some point in time.

 :)

Yeah so I bought a Line6 PODxt and it's awesome and I love it and augghh.

I also recorded this generic alternative rock thing with shitty improvised leads at the end. But I still like it. Here:

kthx

PS- The wave file sounds soo much better than the MP3 I linked to.. but it's also somewhere around 11mb. I'd make an .OGG but I'm too lazy. :P
