Title: A plan (plenty of time to prepare)
Post by: Outboundlight on October 25, 2004, 09:19:35 pm
this is the best idea i have ever had ever.

seriously.

Ok heres the deal, we are going to promote machinae supremacy on radio 1 in the UK on the most listened to show, sound hard? well it should be but its not. Heres the deal, the official uk chart show on sundays (from 4 to 7) sometimes hosts a webchat with a famous person and when they do they sometimes say stuff from the chatroom on the radio, so next time they do it (they dont do it every week unfortunately) we have to get as many people in the room as possible to pimp machinae and the website and hopefully it'll get a mention on radio one!!

whos with me?

Sounds like a good idea! Might not work, but what the hell? I've got nothing better to do!

 ;D

Even if I do live in the USA. :P

I might help, too. Just give me coordinates, and I'll see if I can remember to show up.

Your sunday is my monday, sorry I would love to.

ALthought if you wouldn't mind converting that into forum time I'm sure people here will back your case.

And remember respect is everything.
And remember don't give up, that was what I was about to say

I'm in.

Talking on any BBC chatroom is like trying to have a conversation with someone in a small room full of 1000 screaming Girls Aloud (a girl band) 10-yr-old fangirls, but I'll try to bare it for this cause!

Never understood why Girls Aloud became famous, they won a talentless show, and then beat up a cleaner, so what? If I tried that I'd face a thing called prison, but now, they get a few hours community service, pathetic....

Hehe, it does sound like a plan... anyone know when they're going to do the webchat thing again?

I have an idea. I'll come into the chatroom and wait for you guys to start talking and then I'll act like an inquistive n00b and say things like: "Oh yeah, what are they like?" and "Do you have a link to their website?"

Best way to advertise their website, rather than just blatently saying it for no reason.

Then a few minutes later shamlessly plug a few songs ;D eg. Oh wow, Hero is great, Winterstorm is awesome etc etc

Yes! This is either gonna work, or we're gonna look like retards, but it's worth a try

On a related note (i.e. Radio 1):

John Peel died today of a sudden heart attack.

But worse than that:

Zane Lowe, MTV2's Mr Bore the shit out of you with pointless and dull talking so that MTV doesn't have to pay too much for playing too many songs per hour, is becoming a radio 1 DJ  :-\ It means good music might return to Radio 1, but it also means that twat will be talking on the radio!

Ah chatrooms, reminds me of when me and the Mansunite girls used to take over the Yahoo chatrooms and talk about PVC vicar outfits ^_^ Count me in ;)

And I thought Zane was already on Radio 1, or was that just a cover thing?

Aye, he probably is. I only found out today though when I saw it on a billboard.

Stripper Vicar, eh?

Well, it was more like planning Paul/Chad yaoi evenings... but I'm guessing the less said about that the better >.>

New music has lost a saint in the industry today. I really hope someone carries on his legacy.

Anyways, yes I'm in on it. I'd love to do my bit for new music. About time people heard music that's fresh and new like Machinae. Not more rap rubbish or rehashed indie.

About plugging Machinae thru Radio 1: I say we flood Zane Lowe with emails. Each independent, as if we don't know that one another have also sent and tactically timed. Not this week, because I think the John Peel tributes will last for a while, but next week....

I've got a bad feeling about that. I just get the feeling that e-teams have tried it before.

Maybe there is a more organised way to do it though?

We could always bust through their skylights waving uzis and demo CDs.

Protest? ;D

Well we could try random flooding of the inbox with different address :P would be great fun (for all of two minutes)

Organised way? Erm... nope, I'm stuck for ideas
