I've never actually played any of the Touhou games, though I've considered trying to get into it, in part because of the music. Wouldn't really know where to start, though :P

I've actually only played The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil and Perfect Cherry Blossom. The first two Touhou games for windows. Gotta catch up sometime, there are so many of them.
Some are known to be freakishly hard. Google could probably give you a better opinion on what to start with. ~_~

Bastion! Played it just very recently. The audio is very central to this game.
I urge you to get it.

^5 Brilliant Soundtrack. It was one of the reasons I bought the game in the first place.

EDIT: Lol, I can't believe I forgot about this:

Super Meat Boy OST is like 70 tracks filled with win and memories of dying a lot.

On the subject of indie games, how can we forget Cave Story?

Well, as it's been almost two days since my last post, I'll allow myself a double post:
One might accuse Loom of cheating, as they used the music from Tchaikovsky's 'Swan Lake', but it worked so well they deserve full credit in my opinion.

This here track is from VVVVV, a great game with even greater music, I used to just sometimes pause the game and listen to the musics as they are awsum.

I assume you got the soundtrack? That was a masterpiece. Seriously, amazing game, AMAZZZZZZING music. Definitely needs a place on the list.
Btw, is the list going to be compiled in the first post? So that those visiting the topic will know exactly what has and hasn't been said?

Sure thing.

Ace Combat Zero

Here's a really powerful track (out of many):

I don't know how. But the spanish guitars vs cinematic orchestrals forms such a perfect hybrid.
To me atleast.

"Your sound card works perfectly."

That's gotta be one of the most epic midis I've heard.

Ah, referencing the sound settings in MS-DOS I presume? :D
I remember that from Duke Nukem 3D.

Here's another strategy game... C&C: Tiberian Sun.
Guess Frank Klepacki is more recognized for his heavy rock music from Red Alert 1 & 2 but this is definitely my favourite soundtrack of his.
Such a great atmosphere, very subtle at times.

You know, I was actually thinking of posting Klepacki. And what I was thinking of posting was something like
"People might be more familiar with Klepacki from tracks like the Hell March, but my first encounter with his music was Dune II and the game that springs to my mind when I hear Frank Klepacki is Kyrandia."

As for "Your sound card works perfectly", it was indeed from the sound settings for WCII. Read in the voice of the footman, no less.
