Baking Graficcards...
« on: September 14, 2011, 05:00:18 pm »
So my 460GTX went to heaven and left me with a lot of dead pixels she showed me in her last minutes.
With no warrenty left I decided to give the urban legend of baking the card a try.
I took off the cooler and the paste.
Warmed up the oven to 130°C and then put the card wrapped in Aluminiumfoil into it for about 30 minutes.
Came out pretty hot - as you can imagine.
I waited a while to cool it down, reassembled it with new paste and through it back into the tower awaiting nothing...
but it went good.

I successfully reincarnated the card via the oven without usage of virgin blood or a hammer.
I'm so excited about it that i can't stop drooling. :D

Try to get it reballed as fast as you can.

Basically - it's resolding the BGA of your main graphics chip.
