Hey guys!
So, here's my long-awaited video. Now you can download it, show to your friends, share, re-upload and so on. Full version in both English and Russian will be always lying here:
ftp://ftp.valet2.com/masuIf you're in Russia, you may use Russian's most popular torrent-tracker:
http://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3726160Now it's in Full HD (1920x1080), with FOUR audio-tracks:
Original (English), stereo
Russian, overdubbed, stereo (played by default)
Specially mixed in 5.1, original (English)
5.1 Russian, overdubbed
plus Russian subtitles
The size is huge, but there's
also 1,5 GB 720p version with only two English tracks.
The duration is 30 minutes, and it consists of interview with the band filmed right before their iconic performance on Assembly, and two live tracks: Rocket Dragon filmed by me and Marko in Tampere (one day before Asselmbly) and Through The Looking Glass filmed with Assembly TV crew (conducted by Garo). Garo has sent me the video files so I made my own edit of the song.
There are three reasons why I made all this:
- I wanted to shoot the band's live performance because there were no nice videos of them. But my first attempt was unsuccessful, and the band disagreed about the filming, because I was just "some guy". But after meeting them twice in 2010 and showing some of my works they agreed.
- I've seen one interview with Gordon and Dezo and I didn't like the way it was made (yeah, the one you may find on youtube). I knew I could do it much better.
- Last year I met Purple Motion (Jonne Valtonen) and made a documentary/interview about him, later uploaded it on youtube, and one guy asked whether I gonna make some more videos "where are they now?". So I realized that someone's interested in that too.
The production took two weeks to make video for Russian demoscene-party Chaos Constructions, and a few days to re-edit it a bit and mix to 5.1.
At first I had an idea to re-record my own voice because it was recorded not properly (with lots of noises), and I messed up with some words, so it's probably hard to understand my accent. But later I decided to leave as it is.
So hope you like it. If not, I'll be happy to get comments which would help to improve my future works... By the way, now I'm working on the interview with Bjorn Lynne who is mostly known as composer / sound guy in the Worms series. I met him is his town Stavern in Norway right after MaSu.
