FFS, it's not a mosque and it's not "on" ground zero. It's a Muslim community center that will have a place for worship contained within. It's as innocuous as a chapel in a hospital or the original places for Muslim worship that were in the WTC towers.

It's two blocks away on a street that also has shitty, globalized fast food joints (as much a "danger" as "religion" if you guys really want to get into that kind of debate) and strip clubs.

This shouldn't have been an issue beyond getting building permits, but the idiots couldn't let that be. It was never an issue of provocation, either, but "Americans with Second Amendment rights" (hurr durr) turned it into one.
