EOTW Album Art Critiques / Interpretations
« on: September 28, 2010, 04:10:17 pm »

Since rob is a very deep and thoughtful individual, and there is so much meaning behind every song and piece of art he does. He does include hidden messages and meanings into certain pieces: such as Overworld's album art - the Trinity stamp on her face has a RFID number underneath it; and the mentions of "a chip beneath my skin, ready to be scanned" in TOT, clearly shows the band's aversion to the RFID chipping "big brother" attitude of some corporations and governments.

I think there is some meaning behind this album art and possibly linked to the song "A View From The End Of The World."

First off, I don't think it's just a strange choice of tattoo that the girl has stars on her face. I also don't think it's a coincidence that those stars are within the top left hand corner of her face, nor is it a coincidence I believe that there is a combination of red and blue around her eyes. The worried "doe-eyed" look on the girl's face, lips parted, mascara running, mimics the look of someone lost and scared. Also notice the band-aid on her left cheek. She is beaten, battered, lost, hopeless and alone. She's "caught in the headlights" (notice the bright lighting on her face compared to her body) of her own impending doom, and all she can do is watch.

The girl is America. The stars and the blue and red colours represent the American flag, the album title echoes the fact that America often sees themselves as "the world", the bandaid and scar on her chin represents the state she is already in, and the facial expression and composition of the lights and darks in the picture represent the 18 wheeler that's just about to run her down.

lol, every American cringed when they read that.  ;D

Man fallout, I'm really impressed. You pulled an L (sneaking in a death note reference there since I finally finished watching it the other night).

All I can really say is...  "Are you one of the marching undead, or do you deviate like me?"

Awesome art per usual, I've come to expect nothing less. Man am I excited.

I like the album art, though I would've liked it better without the stars.

Is there a high-res available anywhere? I checked Deviantart, nog there.

Yeah, that looks pretty familiar. :)

Also, good and plausible interpretation, Fallout.
We're open to such things, we've even talked many times about doing it with Inja, but in a way that's redundant because we can already get Erica

Machinae Supremacy - We're going to free the shit out of you

New single.

Reading that made me lol in the middle of class. Professor gave me a weird look haha. Nice interpretation though, sounds very likely.

the album title echoes the fact that America often sees themselves as "the world"
Or an "entire continental mass" and not just a country in it. >:3

She looks like an American superhero (like a female Captain America) who's realized it was all pointless.
