Final Fantasy XIII
« on: March 03, 2010, 02:37:43 pm »
I ordered today my copy of FF XIII for my Xbox 360. I never played FF before, because I never had a Playstation so I don`t really know how the game will be.
I was really impressed by the graphics of the game and it seems like it is the first really good RPG for the XBOX 360. Is anyone else going to buy this game?
I´m not sure if it is a good decision to buy it, because I recently bought Bayonetta and I really don´t have much money right now...

If you have a 1080p monitor with DVI, all you need is a HDMI adaptor and you're set. For really feeling the epicness of FF though, I recommend not playing on anything smaller than a 32'' screen.

i played a few hours of it then promptly put it down and never touched it again. almost everything about the game was a big step backward from previous games in the franchise imo. the story was really generic, bland color pallet, and awful character design. not to mentioned very uninvolved combat.

idk. . . as far as RPGS go a lot suck, but the FF series is pretty overrated. there's better out there, but none with greater familiarity.

I don´t know if it´s a step backwards I haven´t played any FF game. I ordered it mainly because of the graphics (I have a HD LCD) and because I like "round fights". The best RPG I ever played was IMO Golden Sun for the GBA, which seems to be similar to the fight system of FF. It´s really unpleasant that there is no demo on XBOX Live so I can test it...

valkyrie profile 1/2 are probably my favorites. star ocean 2 is also pretty fantastic. lufia for gameboy color has a really cool take on standard round based combat. i strongly suggest emulation of that one. i also hear this persona 3 is quite the awesome game: http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/rpg/persona3face/index.html?tag=result;title;0

fucking shit. my bad. nvm; i've never played xiii. i was bashing xii; that's the one that was boring and uninspired as fuck. i hope xiii is good. i've been waiting for a decent ff since ix i guess, although i hated the main character with a fiery passion.

That sounds exactly like my experience of FFXII...

Would it be possible to connect the output of the ps3 to my actual computer and resend the signal from there to my monitor?

Possible, yes, but more work than it's worth getting a ~€10 adaptor and a HDMI cable. If you only have one port on your monitor, get a DVI-switch, they are not very expensive.

Not DVI either? If that's the case, PS3 also supports VGA

You can also plug a separate cable which outputs audio via cinch and connect it to your speakers, or even your PC's soundcard - though it when forwarded through PC it can cause small sound delays. My friend told me it can work that way on PS3, but personally I only used that method on my JewBox 360.

The great thing on that Microsoft Box 360 is that you actually have to break the cable in order to do that.
We're open to such things, we've even talked many times about doing it with Inja, but in a way that's redundant because we can already get Erica
