Bad Company 2
« on: February 07, 2010, 07:25:44 pm »
http://badcompany2.ea.com/

Battlefield: Bad Comany 2 is in full swing Beta right now, and I am currently getting it for PC through Steam.

The game itself, badass, it is by far the most intense Battlefield game I have played (and I have played all except Bad Company 1...not available for PC)

New game-modes, unlock and experience system, and by far the most impressive feature, the Frostbite engine in all of its glory, everything explodes, everything is destroyable, and there is nowhere to hide.

Currently playing it for Xbox (beta), but since PC > everything, I pre-ordered to gain access :p

Whoever is playing, squad up!

It should be noted that the DEMO on Xbox, which has limited unlocks, is different from the PC beta, which has full access to all weapons and attachments.
That's the problem with heroes, really. Their only purpose in life is to thwart others. They make no plans, develop no strategies. They react instead of act. Without villains, heroes would stagnate. Without heroes, villains would be running the world. Heroes have morals. Villains have work ethic.

It should also be noted that Battlefield series sucks unless you camp or play with friends.

BTW. I played MW2 with you last night, Harvey. Domination. Though my connection sucks and it was laggy.

I don't play Domination. Are you sure it was me?

They have access to, but if you look at the requirements (points) needed, its a good billion or so (so they are technically not very obtainable)

Pretty funny seeing someone say they were playing MW2 right after saying "battlefield series sucks" :p

I've played the demo on Xbox for something like 14 hours, by far I love it. Strangely, I haven't touched MW2 since. :P Anyways, will definitely buy this on release.

Before MW2 I played a lot of Battlefield 1943. So my point is still valid. Though I'm gonna try BC2 anyway, MW2 gets boring at some point.

I have BC2 pre-ordered. :)

For some reason I'm leagues better at sniping on Battlefield than I am at CoD. There's nothing like pulling off a headshot from across the map.

MW is more laggy than BC2 is, at least on my connection. Never had 4 bars on MW2, thus it makes my sniping impossible, at least when I'm not in the mood for predicting future.

It's sitting at home waiting for me when I get home.

It's kewl. Played it once, launching it now. It's pretty camper friendly, but I love the "rawness" of the battlefield. It ain't as smooth as MW2 and it's definitely harder to master. Though it's a nice change from buggy Modern Camper 2.

Being able to spawn on your squad makes camping hard for defenders, you get one guy past and sneaking around back then all of a sudden you have your entire squad of 4 ready to hit em from behind.

Not to mention snipers actually have to compensate for gravity and can't point and click until they are actually good at the "twitch"

The most defining feature I find is the sound though....set your sound to War Tapes, and it amplifies everything times infinity, every little detail comes through, every distance is accurate and every sound is crisp.

The only issues are those first day bugs such as...well...not being able to join 90% of the servers (unless they fixed it today..haven't launched it up yet) and some other more minor things.

To actually win you need good coordination with your team, you could have 10k points but still lose because you just decided to sit somewhere and try and snipe people for the entire duration of the game. :/

Playing it for the PC myself though....because its better :)

Just finished my first night. It was rough to start, but after getting back into the swing it was great fun, and my friends and I finished each round in the top 3-4. Some of the guns suck, though.
