Borderlands

Why is there no topic on this yet!?

RPG + FPS

It is wasteland shooter with RPG elements and a "random generator" system for weapons/items that you can loot from kills and chests.

Incredibly addictive, yet somewhat short in terms of overall content. The game story-line is short, and in turn limits the amount of areas you can enter. But with each area being a little different than the last it makes you want to explore and blow up all enemies you find.

Some some humor in it, but only really seems evident in the early areas of the game, and nearing the end the storytelling seems to drop-off, less interaction with NPCs other than just talking to them for starting/completing a quest can make the game seems rather lonesome.

But that is not to say you cannot have 3 of your friends (or some random asshats that join your hosted game to steal your precious l00tz) play with you in online co-op type gameplay. One thing to add to the online of this game is...ummm...you can..."aquire", the game however you want, and as long as you have a gamespy account, can play online without a hitch *wink* *wink*

Overall, I am still playing it, since once you complete the game, you can play through it a second time on a harder difficulty (similar to lets say, Diablo 2) but only ONE other difficulty other than normal :/

Or just start a new class and try out their abilities to find what is right for you.

So..."get" the game, and make a gamespy account (its free...but I know, it is Gamespy -.-) and catch a ride! complete some quests! and blow up badass enemies!.

Currently have a 41 hunter on PC version.

Probably a case of the winter madness. Too many high profile games jammed into a few months. Between that and trying to find a job and relocate while finishing the last of my freelance gigs in a rush has left my gaming time utterly annihilated for the past month or two otherwise I'd have picked it up for PC already.

Maybe it's just because I like RPG's more than shooters. But I played Borderlands and stopped after about an hour. Because Fallout 3 was so epic, all I could think about was that, and started playing Fallout again.

To be honest the whole envoriment reminded me somewhat of fallout aswell, but since i'm an ex diablo junkie this game is seriously feeding my addiction of random generated items with versatile stats. I.E rocket launchers with high capacity and over the top fire speed makes it a rocket machine gun =)

Played it in LAN with a couple of friends. Great fun. Especially going into Berserk mode.

Unfortunately, I don't have a PC that can do games.

Mad Moxie's Underdome Riot came out today, and I have been playing it madly...the only issue I am seeing with Borderlands + downloadable content is that it is REALLY hard to find other people playing the content. If i search in matches it only tells you the players main story quest (will never include DLC) so we are kinda left in the dark to find other players.

I am kinda stuck on the last arena for the starter challenges, and wish I could find other players playing it too.
