New Atheist bus riding through england
« on: January 09, 2009, 12:45:15 am »

Quote

The campaign is being held in multiple cities. One of the sponsors is de scientist Richard Dawkins, author of the bestseller "The God Delusion".
Dawkins hopes that the slogan will make people think about omnipotence and how that effects your daily life.

It doesn't.

Gee that was insightful. Thanks Mister Dawkins!

I think Britons are predominately Athiest anyway, but I guess this will help worm out the few Christians that are left. Either that or make them extremist against Athiests.

Where's the "don't know, don't care" option?
That's the problem with heroes, really. Their only purpose in life is to thwart others. They make no plans, develop no strategies. They react instead of act. Without villains, heroes would stagnate. Without heroes, villains would be running the world. Heroes have morals. Villains have work ethic.

I believe they call that "not voting".

I think there's God but I think that He does not mind me so I don't worry and enjoy my life anyway. But hey, everyone with their own style :) If I were sponsor for that campaign I would demand my money back, though. I mean, graphic design is just boring. If that's what's supposed to be the "happy alternative"...

One of the few times you'll see "God" written in pink.

Gotta give credits to lady in picture though. She is kinda cute and definitely not boring (but on the other hand, she probably was not paid either). Personally I've always thought that most effective way to criticize religions or provoke thoughts about existance of god(s) has always been (song) lyrics and poems. Some of the finnish songwriters for example have been real masters of doing this. First name that comes to mind was Juice Leskinen (one finnish-artist-that-almost-nobody-has-heard-of-before-here but for whom  I made small thread when he died). His lyrics were genuine and genious - both intellectual and emotional at the same time. He could crystallize things in very vivid images and metaphores and when I listened his songs - and I still do listen them - I always thought "he really got point in this" or "he's right" even when I disagreed with him. His criticism was subtle and always thought provoking - if one really listened the lyrics. So yeah... I think that their money were better spend if they would have given it half of it to some artist and asked them to write kick-ass song and after that pushed it to radiostations using half of that sum for promotion...

Maybe he cares that we know, but doesn't care if God exists? There is a difference there.
