The one I'm most excited about is The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die (February 23, 2009). Not anywhere near metal music, though.

Wintersun - Time

They have a release date set for that album now? Yay!

Also looking forward to new releases by Dream Theater, Devin Townsend, Iron Maiden, Katatonia, lots more...

If I can select a release that is not an album, but is music-related in that it is a live DVD of the very show I went to last year of my favourite band, metronome, which is being released within 3 days of my birthday, then that would be my most-anticipated.

If I can't, then screw you.

Cradle Of Filth - Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder - October 2008
MuDvYaNe - The New Game - November 2008

Both are individual albums in their own right, but can't help make me feel both bands are headed down the long windy road of mainstream. Sad days for me.
But if one day we meet together while I'm drunk, I promise you to draw a big group sex picture including a lot of forumites. :D

They've already gone pretty far down that road.

Cruelty and the Beast is quite a progressive album and the same can be said for L.D.50

Updated list :)
DVDs go as releases as well, so just post the ones you are expecting (with tentative release) and I'll add it ^^

Fear That Gives Men Wings - A Bit Closer To Heaven

The first full length album of my band is supposed to come out mid-summer.

I, for one, can't wait =)

22.05. Neaera - TBA => yaay! :)
19.06. Graveworm - TBA => yaay! :)
Wintersun - Time... who knows :D but yaay! :)
December Eluveitie - Evocation II: Visions => yaay! :) and also that other Eluveitie album...
December Sonata Arctica - TBA => yaay! :) (hopefully better than Unia, though I doubt it)

But apart from that, I think 2008 looked more promising...

Edit: Ah, at least Unexpect claim their next album is "in the final process of pre-production". That's good. "In the meantime...go talk to a grapefruit, build a meat temple or simply do something else equally relevant." - I sure will do!

We're open to such things, we've even talked many times about doing it with Inja, but in a way that's redundant because we can already get Erica
