anyone else give it a listen?

quite good.

way to go you old fuckers.

it's no "and justice for all" but it's certainly a solid set of songs.

I like it that they're releasing the entire album for Guitar Hero III and World Tour.

I've heard that the sound quality is borked.
That's the problem with heroes, really. Their only purpose in life is to thwart others. They make no plans, develop no strategies. They react instead of act. Without villains, heroes would stagnate. Without heroes, villains would be running the world. Heroes have morals. Villains have work ethic.

They tried to go back to what they used to sound like...which didn;t work out too bad imo. The only song that is remotely skippable (as of now, that may change later) is Suicide & Redemption....but that is just me.

My only complaint would be that the bass is barely noticable and how the guitar sounds, the palm mutes should be chunkier.

I thought it was solid. It has some really good riffs and some awesome solos. My complaints:

-Vocals aren't strong enough (James lost some of his vocal edge)
-Production could be better (Sounds empty, or amateur sounding at times)
-Unforgiven III was underwhelming.
-They released probably the best song as the first single. (caught between that and Suicide & Redemption)

It isnt bad, but the only tracks I keep going back to are All Nightmare Long, Cyanide and U3. And the production is really too dry for my liking. Stiil, not a bad effort, better than I thought it would be.

It's been proven to be higher quality than the retail version... Strange, huh?

What I've heard of this album did not excite me. I guess my metallica days are just all played out.

Boring. Metallica as usual.
We're open to such things, we've even talked many times about doing it with Inja, but in a way that's redundant because we can already get Erica

Hm, qualified opinion would probably take on the qualities of actually liking Metallica in the first place.

Thats like you showing me a Destiny's Child album, and me saying it's shit, i don't like the band, so i can't delve much deeper into how their sound has developed, good or bad.

I am referring to Mister CrazyWater, i coulda quoted. But i didn't, wanna fight about?!
