Yes, I'm back
« on: July 04, 2008, 01:28:08 am »
Seems WereVolvo has looked through my subtle ploy to not make a return thread and announce my coming-back-from-Spain. So I'll make one. This is it.

Spain was fun. I learned a couple of new things, like:

1. There's a difference between a Norwegian and a Spanish Gin & Tonic.
2. A Norwegian G&T is basically tonic water with a dash of gin and a twist of lemon. The Spanish is gin with a dash of tonic water and a twist of lemon.
3. Having a G&T after having spent the morning hours shopping in the market will lead to you being drunk. Being drunk in the market leads to you shopping stuff you hadn't planned for. The caramels were very good, though.
4. When mom buys you all a mojito each, be sure that your sister does not think there's too much rum in it *before* you buy one, even if the bartender asks "is it strong enough, or do you want more rum?"
5. Two half-litre glasses of mojito-like drink (plus beer) at 2p.m. means the rest of the day at the beach gets tinted a bit differently, and you don't know if you should really go out in the water.
6. Football is fun to watch, given that it's the EURO2008 and you're watching Spain winning it all at a Spanish football pub.
7. Bathing in the fountain after Spain has won is even more fun.
8. There aren't really that many hot spanish girls, though those there are are often really hot.

I learnt some other things, too, I think, but I've forgotten those lessons of life.

Sounds like a very fun trip! Everyone I know who have visited (or lived at) Spain have told how great there is... I want to visit it some day too! Anyway, welcome back traveller from under scorching sun of Spain :D

1. There's a difference between a Norwegian and a Spanish Gin & Tonic.

There's also a difference between a gaijin-G&T and the rest of the worlds. Mine contains no tonic, no gin and no lemon, but a few swirls of single malt. It's a novel idea, but I rather like it.
Oi, is this when I get a huge sig-image, start whining about "moar sid" and make nonsensical arguments to no good?

Win!

Also, welcome back Torp ;D
Hope you didn't destroy Torrevieja too much so it's completely unrecognizeable when I go there in a week :>

This is indeed a novel idea, and I'd really like to try it, but I've drunk enough these last few days.

If you're saying that, you really haven't.

WB Torp!

Have a nice day!

And remember...

But if one day we meet together while I'm drunk, I promise you to draw a big group sex picture including a lot of forumites. :D

Around here, we call that a "whisky".

Bought The Macallan 10 Years old Cask Strength at the airport, by the way. It's rather good. Gotta love Tax Free.

Also got myself two bottles of port wine.
