Well, i was waiting for this movie for about a month, when i got around to see it, i thought it was awesome.

It was really refreshing to see that you're kept in the dark about your whereabouts and whats going on in a more perspective scale.

In the end i was kinda suprised that it ended like that, but you had to see it coming because they were viewing a tape!

I wants it on dvd..

I kind of want to own it as well, seeing a show I enjoyed it thoroughly... but I don't think the experinece would be the same (or very good at all) unless you have one sweet freaking entertainment system.
the booming sound and massive screen of the theatre is very important for this movie, I feel.

I liked it. A lot.

I think that the entire story telling was cleverly made, and it was a pretty refreshing movie, in my opinion.

It depends on how you're feeling when you watch it. I was hungry, sleepy, and watched it at the midnight show. I did get motion sickness, but didn't throw up though.

Officially licensed collectors' figure of the monster. Potential spoiler since a part of the hype was the whole "OMG, what might the monster look like"-thing.

did you ever see first blood

apparently not

it's common knowledge that anything starring stallone in it is a film worth avoiding. surely you knew? :P
obviously i haven't seen cloverfield yet, so its time for my departure from this thread! EJECT!

How can you deject a movie with an average death count of 2.5 deaths a minute?

My brother saw the movie, said it was insanely good, maybe watch it one day when I'm bored.
But if one day we meet together while I'm drunk, I promise you to draw a big group sex picture including a lot of forumites. :D

as we discussed earlier in the thread, this movie NEEDS a good setup to be enjoyable.
if you watch it on a 21" TV with monaural sound, it's going to suck.

I recommend going to see it if it's still in theatres anywhere near you or finding a friend that has excellent surround sound and big TV.
maybe that friend is you.

anyway, keep that in mind d00d ;)

I'm kind of surprised to see that so many people disliked this movie. I understand, the way absolutely nothing was explained might bother some, but it really didn't me. In fact, it was what made me enjoy the movie so much.
You'd have to think about it, if you were in that situation, you wouldn't know a thing that was happening until after it happened, and that's assuming that you survived.

Most of what I'm saying is just a repeat, so I'll just say that I agree with the people who did like it. It was awesome.

Come on and look at the other side.

Finally watched it! missed the cinema release (why the hell was it on for such a short time in england?), finally got my hands on a decent enough quality dvd rip. It was absolutely brilliant. Loved the shaky-cam style, loved the lack of explanation. It annoys me when films feel the need to completely explain themselves, it makes it seem like the makers think every single viewer is an idiot with absolutely no capacity for self-thought.

Did anyone else notice that the mini-monsters sound like a sped-up high-pitched pacmam? (waka waka waka)

I can't lie, there were a few moments where I lol'd at the sounds they made.
