I has questions!

a lot of artists end up with more songs than they plan to feature on an album.
some artists release these on a b-sides and extras record.

are there some tracks not featured on albums that you guys have laying around?
are they awesome but weren't included in an album because of theme incompatibility? (Like Ghost was originally before the retail version featured it).

if so: are there plans on releasing them in any format?

well, im guessing they do have the songs in better quality (right?), so i could even pay to get them on cds. if possible =).

then again, im guessing many of us would want that, which would take time. something that could be better used on.. something else  ;D :P

but yeah, if possible to get on cd, im interested  ;D

This has been discussed before, though I cannot remember in what thread. General response to the idea was favorable, but I do not recall any kind of committed response from the band...

Still, on that note, I'd be very much in favor of being able to build your own "Mix" CD out of lossless recordings of select web-released songs.
Your approval fills me with shame.

i think the end result on that discussion was that although people would like it, they'd prefer the band to focus on creating new material rather than promoting ye olde.

im not saying they should do a remix or something like that though. i would just like the files in lossless quality, and if that means getting them on a burned cd then id be happy with that. a cd doesnt cost that much, and neither would postage. say 50sek, and they got a deal. (im not sure with how many cds it would require though).

no focus would be taken from new material.

But it would take focus. First of all, they would need to remaster the tracks. Then, they'd need to send all the copies, if more than one person would want it.

And I still don't think that they would do all that if only one person would do it. They have claimed several times that they are very busy people.

In my humble opinion, they need to focus on new material, instead of trying to promote their old stuff.

Don't get me wrong, I'd want it as much as the next fan, but I'd rather get new material than a rehashed/remastered old track,

as awesome as it would be to hear some old tracks with the new and improved vocals a la Robert and the overall quality improvement of the band, I agree that new material should be focus here.

DXM : perhaps because the band tought it had to be remixed/remastered.

Redeemer : I think I remember a post where it was said that Spinefarm wanted it to be remastered.

I think the question alluded more to "can't they release lossless FLAC versions of songs without remastering?"

and not so much as to why they have remastered in the past :)

Because I don't think that they have the original loss-less files left.

ah, ok. well, if thats the problem then i agree, they shouldnt waste any time with that. but if they do have the lossless files left, i think they should at least think about it. if they need someone to help distribute the files (at the price of cds+postage) then i think there are plenty of fans that would be willing to help, myself included.

Ok, so I have a question and an request for the band.
I have been listening to "Masugn" a lot recently, and are really fond of the music, aswell as the few lines of lyrics I can hear.
I have been trying to Google for them, but I can't find anything, not even the slightest hint that they ever existed.
What I am looking for, is lyrics. (<-- Hint for request)

I have been searching the forums, and all I could find, was an old thread, which revealed lyrics for one song and an interesting quote from Rob, saying something with; "It's best if you don't know-".
Now, this only made me more interested, and therefore, I am kindly asking the band, or someone else, to post a link, or PM me with lyrics. (<-- Request)

And the question is, what the hell is "Masugn" anyway? (<-- Question)
