But i wonder wich is the best, software emulation (QuadraSiD) or SiDstation?

from what robert said, the sidstations are really volatile. so id say software emulation for reliability.

This might come as a retarded question, but however:

I got alot of cool SID records and stuff, but they arent mine so it's not like i know how to play them or anything (on the keyboard blablabla)

Anyways, I'm trying to make some cool chord riff to the songs with my guitar (alot of distortion) or even make some sort of solo into it, but i dont really know what kind of chords I should play to make it sound similar, and since there's nothing such as tabs for this song(s) I couldnt find out from that way, so i wonder, What would you do?

quadraSID emulates the SID sound to a degree. It's fairly convincing, but if you happen to compare them next to one another, the quadraSID really sounds terribly poor compared to the SidStation.

quadraSID's advantage is that it's VSTi, which makes it very easy to work with. On a SidStation you need to program presets, and control them via midi (which I guess you use to control VSTi too, but it's still not quite the same).

In short... SidStation is superior in sound, but quadraSID is very easy to use. The SidStation is reliable, but it's fragile. I managed to burn my SidStation by connecting a midi cable while it was turned on. Most hardware manuals tells you not to do this to equipment, but who ever listens to that? :)

It's my job to keep SID elite.

oh woe is the community without sidstations :(

im obligated to settle for the cheaper lower quality alternative i suppose, one day i might buy one, for laughs, many sid-liscious laughs... *dreams*

So is the SiD in the next album QuadraSID or from the SidStation?

I'd reckon they'll get the sidstation repaired, because we all know that rob for one always wants the highest quality music, so i think he'll go for the sidstation and nothing else.
Or not. ;D
