Oil Crisis
« on: February 14, 2004, 02:06:55 pm »
I was surfing the net, and found this quite disturbing page, which I urge you all to read. Sure, he might seem a bit pessimistic and overreactive, but still, his sceneario is fully possible...

My pleasure...

Just thought I'd inform everybody, so that when it happens, we'll at least be somewhat prepared. And in the end, the Cult of the Machinae will rule the world, because I prepared you all....

Eat? Nah. We'll need them for...other...purposes...like:

reproduction
food gathering
general work, so that we don't need to do it...

I wouldn't be too worried about feul crises considering that there is a device that was featured in real publications that can not only remove the oil from used tires in a safe manner, but can render turkey bones and skin, a major biproduct of the turkey industry, into something useable as oil...

It's pretty cool.. they say that given the proper time to research they can turn just about anything into oillike substances...

I'll see if I can't find a link somewhere...

If we are out of oil we have other methods to produce energy. Like methanol, ethanol, wood (carbon monoxide has been used in cars, for example); INSERT INTO yabbse_messages (ID_MSG, ID_TOPIC, ID_MEMBER, subject, posterName, posterEmail, posterTime, posterIP, smiliesEnabled, modifiedTime, modifiedName, body, icon, attachmentSize, attachmentFilename) VALUES natural gas (from shit and junkyards) and so on... We have not tried even use solar power to it's maximum!

Sure, it will be less and it will be more expensive but then again, oil companies have done all they could to prevent inventing new forms to produce mobile forms of energy. It's time to wake up but I would not see this situation as bad as some most pessimistic scientist are. What I'm worried about is how nature can handle all gasses our cars and industry produces?

Hey, I use a form of transportation that is environmentally freindly and uses common foodstuffs for fuel.

My own two feet... :D

Well, I slept it off, most of it, and Futurama on the TV all night  long :)
I fell asleep at the end of a Star Trek episode, and woke up to Futurama :)

I'm in full control of myself now, but my head is a bit fuzzy, like when you're tired :)
I have not yet suffered any bad sideeffects from drinking :)
My body really handles poison well, though I don't know what will happen after five strong beers... I think I should avoid finding out. :)

True, that is funny, considering I just downloaded and watched about 30 episodes myself.. wish I had caught it on TV.. it's a good show.

(Not all at once, by the way.)
