I love rain as well. I never do sleep so well but when raindrops keep drumming the window and roof. Smell of air on and after the rain... It's so pure and alive. And warm summer rain on naked skin... There's some magic moments stored on my memory... Like swimming on rain and lightning... Yeah, that was stupid but we (my friend and I) were kids and it was great fun.

I just hope that at monday it does not rain (at least not pouring) because we're going to forest then. When there is no house rain becomes problem even when we have some water protection for our stuff. In forest the wetness just... wins.

Not when you're walking home from school and suddenly get caught in a downpour.

But then the girl you're walking with has her shirt soaked through and that's all right.

I got stuck in in a downpour walking from an academic hall to the dining commons. After being soaked and having a really nice lunch, I went outside, where it had slowed down, and walked around campus for a while. I got soaked even further and kicked around in some puddles.  :)

It's a good thing it came, too, because we were in the middle of a drought. The trees were turning a month early.

I usually try to make a point to take a walk during some good rain.

also, during a torrential storm once... lightning and all that awesome jazz.
even though people don't tend to believe me, it's honest to god true.

my friends and I were trying to walk home and as we came up to a church before turning to our next street a grand bolt of lightning
came down and struck the cross.

and it was GRAND (see previous statement)
we all stopped dead, mouths agape.

the cross had a pair of lightning rods sticking out from the top, you see, so it wasn't entirely unlikely.

but still one of the coolest "holy SHIT!" moments of life.

I'd imagine. I believe you, for what it's worth.

Rain really can be awesome. I like it most of the time. Autumn storms are really quite lovely, in many ways. I have so many memories, blurred into one big one, of downpours up at my paternal grandparents cottage, as a kid, lying in bed or sitting in the living room (maybe even with a cup of hot cocoa), the rain dripping down on the roof and making for a beautiful atmosphere.

There's something comforting about rain. It washes away all the bad stuff, even in its destructive power, it gives life and creates calm within me. Call me crazy, but I'd even say you could make something very romantic out of an evening of autumn storm.

I don't really like rain. Infact, I think it sucks big time. Except for when I'm under a roof looking at it. Then it's nice if there is a lot of it.

Ah yes, the rain. During the warm summer nights and days(cant really tell them apart here in Finland, the sun stays up 24/7) having some rain is really nice thing. Usually when it rains I go outside and sit under a quite big parasol we have over the table in our terrace. Its just lovely to sit there, listen to the rain falling down and drumming the parasol while thinking deep or not so deep thoughts. Or just letting it refresh your mind by clearing your mind of everything else. Another favorite of mine is when im visiting my grandparents cottage and I sleep in the second cottage-building that is on the riverside and it starts to rain during the evening. Nothing is more fantastic than listening to the rain drum on the old tin/plate roof while the small stream is making its sounds. All this of course while some birds are chirping while waiting for the rain to stop. Those are the nights that you really feel that you are sleeping like a human should sleep. Pure awesomeness.

And of course, lets not forget the good ol' walks in the warm summer rain with someone whos company you enjoy.
