upgrading the ram and processor should do it; upgrade the ram as far as possible, as i believe my 2 GB are the bottleneck. also, i assume you were gonna get xp as opposed to vista. if not, do so (at least until the first vista service pack).

im gonna go against you here and say get vista. ive had no problems at all with it, despite plenty of people aimlessly bashing it down. but its your call, just ignore this is you're a vista hater already :)

used vista, have an actual copy, and went back to xp, luckily, i did not put vista on my new pc as i didn't want the trouble of trying to get it off.

Stick with XP until the first service pack, wait for feedback, then see how you feel.

It WILL fuck up your gaming, at some point. Probably right away.

I got my notebook. It's awfully nice, thought apparently my spooge drivers aren't working for Dawn Of War.
