When in doubt go for the national dish of Wales, cheese on toast.

Yeah, that's never a failure.

I'm trying something "new", though. Well, I'm trying to recreate my uncles breakfast casserole, sort of. Took two slices of bread, two eggs, about a cup of milk, and some ham, mixed it and put it in the oven.

I'll find out how it tastes pretty soon. Well, in 10-20 minutes. No idea how long it needs to finish.

EDIT: Okay, this tasted of failure.

Okay, this tasted of failure.

WHAT?

Failure is not an option for one with such an awesome first name. Try it again and succeed, or forfeit your right to the name "Thomas" for all eternity.

Yes, I know this can taste of success, but the proportions were not right.

Trying to make foodstuff from scratch, using only very rough guidelines ("there was milk in it, and eggs. And of course bread. Can't remember what else. Was there any else?"), is a bit of a try-and-fail-until-you-get-it-right thing.

It's a bit like, in science, creating a hypothesis (in this case "mixing these things together in these proportions should create a good and tasty meal"), and then trying it out experimentally.

My hypothesis was wrong, and I must now create a new hypothesis.

Oh, and the thing tasted a bit like French Toast (which is yummy) mixed with omellete (which is also yummy), but there was something in it all that sorta made it wrong. Might very well have been the weird bread.

"Breakfast casserole".

There's just so many different kinds of them. Much like stuffing for turkey.
