Six Feet Under
« on: July 07, 2007, 12:05:27 am »
might I draw special attention to this show

Both to those who have seen it already and to those who have not.

It's an absolutely beautiful show... nothing else has captured the theme of Death so gloriously.

Ever.

I feel like I'm being prepared for Death as I watch the show.
It's not an ominous or bad feeling.  It's comforting.

Watch.

glad someone else likes it.  i like the openings too.[:

fuck the boxset, download them in high quality on veoh.com. And for sure watch the last couple of seasons in order.

the last four or so episodes of the series are probably the best television i've ever seen, but they sorta require the entire season for full impact.

when i finished watching the last episode i felt like nothing i've ever done is worth a drip of spittle. i was in the middle of a level lego star wars 2 when i started watching it and i just had no desire to finish it afterwards. i definitely didn't want it to end, but it was such a beautiful ending...

anyway, to try to fill the gaping hole left in my existence after i finished watching it, i watched the first season of Dexter, which is a showtime show starring michael c. hall (David in 6fu) as a forensics guy who is also a serial killer of serial killers. It's not nearly as excellently crafted as 6fu, and it takes an episode or two to get over him not being a gay guy, and the whole premise and narration is like free verse emo poetry, but if you don't take it too seriously it's nearly as entertaining as 6fu nonetheless.

I only got in to 6FU about 4 months ago and I've sinced waqtched every episode. I loved this show so damn much. The characters are so well developed, and Alan Ball isn't afraid to make his protagonists extremely ambiguous or use unconventional subject matter. It is also a beautifully shot show.

Season 2 and season 5 are probably my favorites... it seesms a lot of peopel stopped watching it during/after season 2, but it's worth watching the whole thing.

The problem I find with the show is that it can be too damn depressing sometimes. :P

and I can never resist.
I'd watch another right now if I had the episode... stupid shotty torrent file. *kick*
