The Pax Cecilia: FREE MUSIC
« on: May 23, 2007, 06:10:29 pm »
The Pax Cecilia are an ambient metal band in the US. They've recently recorded their latest album "Blessed Are The Bonds" (samples on their myspace: here. "The Tragedy" and "The Progress" are from the new album).

They're sending the full CD out for free to anyone who e-mails them (cd(at)paxcecilia.com). Never being one to turn down free music, I sent them an e-mail a couple of weeks ago, and received their CD in the post this morning. It's an absolutely fantastic album, well worth owning, and it's completely FREE! So go get yourselves a copy. There's no catch, all the band asks is that you share with your friends!! :P ;D

They even pay for shipping to the UK? That's...nice. But must be expensive.

That is indeed a lovely gesture.

It cool to see a band understanding what making music is about.

People should WANT to listen to you, so you give them free stuff ofcourse !

Nice. Almost makes me want to donate them for a cd.

The CD's have arrived and the initial batch has been shipped out.

Thank you for all your patience, we know it's been a long time coming. As always, feel free to contact us about anything of interest. We'd love to hear your thoughts on the new album.

Also, without sounding to desperate, it is costing us a lot more to ship these out than we had thought. If you feel like donating it will really help us out.
Again, thank you, and enjoy. Hopefully we will see you all this summer!

I've already purchased the album in iTunes, and I'll probably donate to them at a later date as well. They deserve it.

For the record... The shipping cost to the UK was $3.60 (according to the packaging it came in).

EDIT: Just donated $10 :)

Just fired off an email. Even if I don't like it, I'll probably donate some money because a band that does things like this deserves compensation.

Just sent my email. I will definitely make a donation for a band thats willing to take that kind of initiative to get their music out there.

If you want to donate, but refuse to use paypal... Then purchase the album in iTunes, or off the other music store listed on their website.

If you don't want to donate, then say it. Don't use paypal as an excuse for being a tight bastard :P ;D

Hmm. I can't really afford to donate right now. So I'll wait on getting a CD, too. =P

I'd donate to these forums if PayPal actually worked.. Good idea buying the album over iTunes though. I'll see if it's actually any good when I recieve it first :P
