Hmmmm. Will it live up to its predecessor is the only real question left. I just might have to upgrade my PC to find out.

Well. I sure think they took that into consideration, considering there's such a hardcore fanbase..

Starcraft 2 is more of the same. I don't really care, as I have Supreme Commander, Dawn Of War and Company Of Heroes to keep me occupied...

BUT

Deus Ex 3...Why have I not heard about this? Maybe they can combine the good bits from Deus Ex 1 & 2!...

...so that'll just be re-making Deus Ex with shiny graphics then. They better do something good with it. There's nothing that has surpassed Deus Ex at what it does.

Tetris is a unique puzzle game. You can't really do much with it to make a similar title in gameplay terms without downright copying it.

There have been plenty of other side scrolling platformers. Maybe some are better than Super Mario Bros. 2. The thing is, it's a side scrolling platformer, and that's a type of game that can be made by other people too.

All I meant was that nobody else has developed since Deus Ex a really good FPS/RPG (Well, except maybe STALKER). There's nothing really stopping anyone either. But Deus Ex is still king of it's obscure semi-genre.

Wrong. Super Mario Bros. 2 is a second sequel to Super Mario Bros. and involves a fat Italian plumber stepping on Goombas.

afaik there has been no other game that does that, hence, unsurpassed

Starcraft 2 is more of the same.

More of the same indeed. And being the greatest RTS (and quite possibly game) ever made thats saying a lot.
