Ok, call me weird, but I'm really just enjoying the hell out of Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt" by nine inch nails...

What cover songs are you listening too right now?

I actualy really don't enjoy that version.

but whatever works for ya =)

Rammstein's cover of "Faith No More"'s "Last Cup of Sorrow"

or Marilyn Manson's version of "This is Halloween" from The Nightmare Before Xmas (and Manson's other covers for that matter, all excellent)

My all time favourite cover songs are:

Gammaray : "It's A Sin" originally recorded by Pet Shop Boys
The Ventures : "Walk Don't Run" originally recorded by Johny Smith
Sugar Ray : "Abra Kadabra" originally recorded by The Steve Miller Band
Joan Jett and Blackheart : "I love Rock 'n' Roll" originally recorded by Arrow
Gary Moore : "Friday On My Mind" originally recorded by The Easybeats
Random ramblings and furious feminine novels per versatility.

ZGOQ [Metronome side project] : "My Way" (by Louis Armstrong)
Floppy : "Radiostar no higeki" (Video Killed The Radiostar by the Buggles)
Deadsy : "Tom Sawyer" (by Rush, ofc)
Scissor Sisters : "Comfortably Numb" (by Pink Floyd) [though I'm probably alone in liking this]
Polysics : "My Sharona" (by The Knack)
The Cruxshadows : "Ballroom on Mars" (by T. Rex)

and anything by Richard Cheese ;D

Machinae Supremacy - I Turn To You

Is all that comes to mind instantly. Mostly for the novelty value.

Best cover ever is Ebba Grön's cover of Staten och Kapitalet by Blå Tåget. For you who don't know (all who aren't Swedes), Staten och Kapitalet became Ebba Grön's greatest hit (even though they have a lot of their own songs that are extremely good), and there are many who don't even know that it is a cover.

Other good covers are (some already mentioned):
Blind Guardian - Surfin' USA
Machinae Supremacy - I Turn To You
Gamma Ray : "It's A Sin" originally recorded by Pet Shop Boys
Hammerfall and Kai Hansen - I Want Out, original song by Helloween.
De Lyckliga Kompisarna - Punkdjävlar, originally by Eddie Meduza. A punk band stealing the most anti-punk song ever and making it a punk song is a pure stroke of genious.
Kraftwerk - Popcorn, originally by Hot Butter.
Sacred Steel - Generally Hostile, originally by Jag Panzer
The Meteors - Breaking the Law, originally by Judas Priest
Tyskarna från Lund - Still Loving You, originally by Scorpions. Boring rock ballad made super party 80's style dance hit? Yes please.

Tool - No Quarter
Cradle Of Filth - Sleepless (the original's recording quality is just too poor to like)
Clint Mansell & Kronos Quartet - Summer Overture
