We're open to such things, we've even talked many times about doing it with Inja, but in a way that's redundant because we can already get Erica

It is.. nice to hear SID used in "popular" music, even if it is ripped off.

I considered Timbaland to be a great producer, but now i'm not so sure about it anymore.

What did he have to say about it ?

Nothing. There's a falsified radio show thing that was posted on Youtube that's supposed to be him, but it's not, or at least people that seem to know more than me say it isn't.

Note: he also marketed ringtones before this using the -original- songs with a beat played over them, convincing people that the Sid was just the polyphonic phone music...
That's the problem with heroes, really. Their only purpose in life is to thwart others. They make no plans, develop no strategies. They react instead of act. Without villains, heroes would stagnate. Without heroes, villains would be running the world. Heroes have morals. Villains have work ethic.

Heh heh, no that's not what I wanted to mean. :p
This news was spread a lot in the demoscene and others music groups (which is comprehensible, considering theses facts : 1 - The song is a chiptune ; 2 - Tempest reached first place in the Assembly with this chip). I've read the finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat had written an article about this story. (If anyone's got the article, I'm prety interested)

This thread reminded me of one funny incident. I laughed my ass off when I watched "Resurrection Of Little Match Girl" and one Finnish song "Rakastuin mä luuseriin" started to play in background. Only it was not same song although it had exactly same melody, same beat and same nasal singing. Even lyrics were themed similarly. Now... I was not shocked about how they dared to take it, apparently without permission, and present it as their own song. That kind of shit happens all the time. I was really shocked of how in hell some Finnish song, originally sung in Finnish, ended up in South Korea, was recorded there, got as hit single and ended up in movie? I guess that world is really small nowadays.

Alright, my mistake. Another example how one ought not to trust sites like imdb...

"One of the songs played in the movie is called "Dreams Come True", by Korean trio S.E.S. The music was originally from a song by Finnish duo Nylon Beat, titled "Rakastuin Mä Luuseriin", but SMTown (S.E.S record company) took it (most likely without crediting Nylon Beat) and made "Dreams Come True" back in 1998. "Dreams Come True" is pretty much a modern classic in Korea."

I did not even knew that Nylon Beat did English version of their song :D The Finnish version was so horrible it made my life miserably. Literally. When me and my wife moved together we lived in student apartment-complex... Now there was one short term neighbour who really liked to play Nylon Beat - in the middle of the night with full volume. Rakastuin Mä Luuseriin and Teflon Love all night long... We were not only one who thought it was little disturbing and that neighbour got kicked out pretty soon. Seriously. Party every now and then and it's fine. Play music loud every now and then and it's fine. Party three times a week, play music loud every time and play always same songs over and over again and be prepared for murders... Seriously. It makes people mad.
