Pokemon DS.
« on: March 20, 2007, 06:45:11 pm »
Despite the fact pokemon, as a trend, died out everywhere ages ago, I've become excited about the DS version of the series. The games have always been good, even if the franchise itself was a bit costly (£5 for a pack of cards? wtf). The graphics have been improved. Hell, some parts are even 3D.
AND! Best bit. It has full wifi support and, as far as i know, voice chat too. So online fights across the world whilst bashing your opponent down is definately a must.

I'm sad i know. But it's the only DS game i've actually wanted it a long time.

Comes out in April for the US. June 1st for the UK.

I've been looking forward to it for ages and ages.

Mmh. Pokémon is a wonderful RPG. Shallow on the outside, deeper than any other RPG on the inside. If my DS wouldn't have died a gruesome death a while ago I so would've bought this... The new Water starter is made of win.

Looks very much like a Ruby/Sapphire add-on, even though it's apparently for DS. But perhaps I'll get one of them.

I hope they make the endings Metroid style.

Looks awesome. Just because the series has gone crappy with its 4342432 Pokemon doesn't mean we still can't play the games. ;)

I was wonderfully addicted to the Game Boy version back in the day (where the crap IS my Game Boy?). I believe I had Red. I also have an emulated version of Yellow that I didn't play long as half the hacks don't work in it and Bulbasuar was always my favorite starter Pokemon, with Charmander in second. Still, I worked my way up to a Pidgeot quickly each time, along with a Dugtrio asap... I always had trouble deciding what to do with Vulpix. I think I usually went electric poke on that one, what was that, Jolteon? Yeah, I think so... God I actually remember all this...
Your approval fills me with shame.

Not really cos Vulpix evolves into Ninetales. Evee is the one that can go to Jolteon, Flareon, or Vaporeon (and now Umbreon and Espeon, and in D/P Leafia and Glacia).

God I can't wait for this game to come out though. It's cool that you can trade your Fire Red/Leaf Green Pokemon or any other Advance Pokemon game to this. I think a few of us from the forums are gonna have to battle it out. :D

definetly can't wait!

i've bought every iteration of the game as of yet.

this time I want to know as little as possible about the games though.
I want running into new wild pokemon to be a 100% surprise.

it's gona rock =D.

the wifi trading system is rocking, too.
you post whay you need, then people can reply that they have it and what -they- need.
then you just set up the trade.

way too awesome.
getting those insanely rare pokemon should be a little more interesting now.

figured i'd revive this, since it is being released soon and discusion is breaking out in the Metroid thread.

so who pre-ordered what?
Diamond here ;D

no one tell me anything about new pokemon or features!
I have succesfuly avoided seeing ANY new pokemon save for the 2 on the covers so far.
so it's going to be a big surprise for each new pokemon I run into ;D.

this thread is going to get busy with battles and trading once the game is released, methinks.

I'm also getting one at some point. I'm not sure whether it's gonna be diamond or pearl yet, though...
