Dual displays
« on: March 15, 2007, 06:11:46 am »
I recently got another monitor so I'm running a dual-monitor setup now, and I'm really very happy with it. Do any others here have a two(or three!?) monitor setup? Pics? What do you think, does it really make a difference?

Heres what my desktop looks like: (1- 1280x1024, 2- 1024x768)

I'll chuck up an image of how my real desk looks in a minute.

EDIT:

I've got a dual monitor display.

I used it for a while in SupCom, actually. Worked well in single player, but once I started in multiplayer, I found that it might be a better idea to have the system resources elsewhere. That is, on my main monitor.

I primarily use the secondary screen for showing movies and tv series. Me and my housemates often eat dinner together, and when we do so, we tend to watch a series, like Stargate, Bullshit or Battlestar Galactica. We often eat at my place, because of my nice table.

I got given a 15" flatscreen, so i tend to use that alongside my 17" flatscreen when i do music related stuff, as the timeline is better suited to stretch.

Hahah, moved to tech discussion. I guess I'm too used to creating threads in Random, they go offtopic so fast anyway :P

The buzz is starting to wear off now, but it still feels awesome to be browsing the forums on one monitor while im talking to my mates on the other.

I remember in my 6th form college one of my mates got incedibly pissed off with the small screens etc. he brought in his triple monitor set up to do his music work

why did i bunk that day?!

A fine reason.

I gave up with my second monitor. One is better for me right now until i get a matching one. It pisses me off having two of different colours.

want.

Those suck for regular non gaming work on your desktop. The PC sees it as one monitor so the interface is stretched over the entire thing and applications open inbetween screens part on one and part on another. As for gaming, most games don't support the resolutions. :|
