Commodore is undead
« on: March 07, 2007, 10:36:11 pm »
(cue "March of the Undead part II")

It seems the Commodore name and logo is going to be used again - this time for high-end gaming PCs.  It doesn't sound, from what I gathered, like they're going to be making a new platform but are instead going to be making a standard Windows PC and putting the Commodore brand on there, much as companies like Alienware and Dell do now.

A quick google search for "Commodore gaming pc" yields a few articles.

I just bought a used C128 a week or so ago, and it's funny to see that same brand announce a new machine that I will probably also want if it runs well and doesn't break the bank.

For those curious, this is not the same company that made the C64s whose sound we're so familiar with - that company went under more than a decade ago, and the name has been sold to a few different companies throughout the years.

Sounds just like a way to increase sales.
