Dragonforce

Dragonforce would be more light, darkness, wind, stars, lands (that are far away), battles, fire, flames, going through battles and flames/fire, evil, hope, love, and then the long-forgotten ancient language of Herman Li's guitar.
That's the problem with heroes, really. Their only purpose in life is to thwart others. They make no plans, develop no strategies. They react instead of act. Without villains, heroes would stagnate. Without heroes, villains would be running the world. Heroes have morals. Villains have work ethic.

Needs more fire. And flames. And going through them.

I'm starting a power metal project with some buddies from college. We're going to make a concept album about some Vikings that have an encounter with some pirates. I've got the story all written out and ready, and some lyrics are in progress.

+1 for awesomeness. Nanowar is teh win when it comes to making fun of Luca Turrilli, Manowar & Rhapsody. ;D

I also love Sonata Arctica (was listening to Shamandalie when I opened up this thread) and I'd recommend the band Elvenking to you. They're Italian Power/Folk metal and I think they have a lot of the similar qualities as SA. I'd suggest you stick to the two newest albums The Winter Wake and Wyrd though.

Hey dude! Thanks.

Current listening... more (older) helloween, more (older) stratovarius, a hungarian band called Zanzibar, then Gamma Ray, Lost Horizon, and another hungarian one called Demonlord. then some israeli trance, but that's off the topic.

so far edguy is still standing out as the best catch of this whole quest, though helloween isn't half bad and i've gained a deeper appreciation for stratovarius. i also used the opportunity to get some iron maiden and whitesnake. teehee.

GAMMA RAY!!! \m/

Gamma Ray = the solo project of the guitarist from Helloween.

Helloween...my favorite tracks so far are "Halloween" (naturally), "Escalation 666", "I Want Out", "Mr. Torture" (heaviest riff EVER!!!), "Push", "Ride The Sky", etc. So many good songs from them 8)

Gamma Ray...equally as good, but I can't think of the song names at the moment ^_^:;;;

Me too. Twice, so far. They are one of the most awesome live bands in the world.

Demonlord is pretty awesome. they don't actually sing in hungarian but oh well. Zanzibar does, but it's a female vocalist and not entirely metal, per se. still rockin though.

Gamma Ray was very solid, i'll need to get more to get a better feel, and Lost Horizon was quite good indeed, thanks to whoever mentioned them.

Coming up, I'm branching out a bit: Elvenking, as was suggested (and from what I heard on lastfm edguy's position may be in jeopardy), and then Therion (also sounds amazing from what i've heard), Soulfly, Korpiklaani, Dark Moor, and uh... chumbawamba...
