Not sure if they count as power metal, but I recommend Wolfcry. You can only download samples (and the occasional 'promo' full song) from that site, but listen to Here We Are or On The Edge and decide whether it's worth downloading/buying the albums.

i should have mentioned BG up top; I'm not a huge fan, but I did acquire some more last night during my p2p rampage. I am suspicious of savage circus, but will check them out. Kotipelto is also in the queue (i listen to everything i download at least once, in the order it was downloaded.). I'm pretty sure I'd classify D&W similarly to Dragonforce, but I guess i could afford to try again.

Savage Circus sounds like early-mid Blind Guardian. Demons & Wizards new album isn't that good but their self titled debute is great.

Well.

Kotipelto was pretty good.
Avantasia was definitely pretty good.
Holy Dragons and WolfCry both worth getting more of.
Stratovarius went up a notch in my opinion, securing an already-tight hold.
The real surprise was Edguy, who have redeemed themselves with their later albums.
Stuck in the middle was Coma (the Polish one) again, who pretty much rock shit, though not in an entirely metal way.

On a related note, Ptaky (another Polish one) is good if you like stone temple pilots.

up later: WarCry, Lost Horizon and Demons and Wizards

You should give Metalium a try. They've been one of my favorites for a while now :)

Them & Helloween. In fact, Metalium did a cover of a Helloween song a while back (song was Ride The Sky).

Seriously, Metalium rock all sorts of hard \m/

YES. Lost Horizon was going to be my answer to. In my opinion, Lost Horizon kick the everloving shit out of Sonata Arctica 6 days a week and fuckl them in the ass on Sundays.
