New version out, mostly bug fixes(over 100) and some world generation fixes... Looking quite nice, but there currently is a bug that causes dorfs to sleep forever, thus the game being unplayable unless you mess with the data files. There is also rumours/jokes about carbon monoxide...

Real Dwarf Mode is where you and six of your friends drive off into a national park with two picks, one axe, a boot full of live turtles and hundred gallons of alcohol. You win bonus points if all your friends have beards and you destroy the car for materials after unloading the goods.

Bestest quotes ever, or atleast good run-ups for the insest and kitten-farming one.

Proceed.

Well, there is a new version out now which should fix a few bugs brought in by yesterdays version, such as the eternal sleep.

Time to make a new fort!

If you want flux, you either have to import it (You can request stones that work as flux from traders, so you can get some that way), or have it at the start. The flux minerals are all layer types, meaning that they take up pretty much a whole layer, so you can see at the set of screen if it is present (You know in the biomes, saying things like "Sandstone" or something like that.) The flux materials are: Chalk, Limestone, calcite, dolomite and marble. Calcite is not a layer, but it is only found in groups of about 6 at a time, so, kind of hard to get a steel industry going with that.

If you don't have it; just request it of the dwarves. A single piece is about 3 dwarven monies, so even with the request percentage increase it is really cheap.

Damn. New version out; now has a built in site finder. You can set different parameters such as "magma pipe, River, Flux Stone" and it will search for sites that has these qualities. Awesome.

Did you check out the tilesets? They freshen up the graphics, so that might do the trick for you. http://mayday.w.staszic.waw.pl/df.htm This is a quite fine tileset, tried it myself and it looks nice, though I'm too used to the original grafics to actually use anything else now :p
