Wii Orb
« on: January 05, 2007, 09:16:13 pm »
for those of you who don't know what orb is, first off
http://orb.com/getorb2/

they now lend their support to Wii internet channel absolutely free.

this thrills me to no end, because i'm notorious for having a ton of movies, entire seasons of plethoras of shows and a big ass load of music.
now I can watch the movies, shows and listen to the music on my Television... for free.

Question. Can't the 360 do this anyway? Or is this something else?

That requires a Windows Media Centre Edition, but there'll be an update so you can do it on XP soon apparently :)

Yes, the 360 can do it... But not all Wii owners have a 360.

I wasn't gloating. I just wasn't sure if the premise was similar or not. :)

There's also WiiCR. Uses flash to deliver content from your PC to the Wii.
http://wmc.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/WiiCR

Copy and paste of what's under their About heading:
WiiCR created by Jacob Jarick (mem) is a media player solution for the Nintendo Wii. It acts as a streaming media server and is capable of transcoding nearly any video file to a suitable flv for an embedded flash player. It allows browsing of the remote filesystem to view: videos (avi/xvid/divx/mpeg/wmv/etc), text files, jpg's and play mp3s.
Fuck what I want.
Fuck what I need.
I'll sacrifice what I believe.
My little girlscout, your mouth is getting sore.
Will you love me any less, if I hurt you any more?

oh, sweet.

because orb 2.0 is still in beta and doesn't support most video types yet.
I'm going to check this one out for sure, thanks AC.
