something just occured to me.
in Red Steel, the crazy guys I shoot at in the head always call me "gaijin!"
with random obscenities and other helpful adjectives...

and then there's, of course, Gaijin right here in our forum.
what does it mean?
the best meaning I could draw from the game was "american"

It means "Foreigner", but in a more friendly way than we say. The literal translation would be gai (outside) jin (person), therefore there is no derogatory meaning behind the word, because it literally means "someone from outside of Japan". It's commonly used now to describe caucasians in Japan, but this is stupid.

Heh, I looked it up a while back when I wondered what Gaijin's name meant.
Moar like N'wah from morrowind.

I usally blasted or cut the throat of anyone who uttered N'wah at me, damn Dunmer.

Kingdom O' Magic is the game I would like to be playing the most, but I can't get it to work on my way too modern computer.

Anyone remembers this lovely fantasy parody of yore?

Gaijin is (or at least was in the beginning) a derogatory term. It's actually a short version of gaikoujin, the correct term for foreigner. I don't think this term is used a lot by normal people anymore, but it's used by politicians and other official people.

Oh right, I bought Rayman: Raving Rabbids yesterday and it rocks. The sadistic nature of most of the minigames makes it completely irresistible. Only sucky thing is you need to play through all the minigames singleplayer to play them mulitiplayer.

Guild Wars (Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall) - Return to the game due to Wintersday festival, and soon-to-be-purchased computer.
Supreme Commander (MPBeta) - Sweet awesomeness.
TrackMania Nations - Sis wanted something to play during the holidays, cue family TrackMania-mania.

In other news, I am also downloading Fallout (al F2 sometime later) to cure my current state of haventplayeditus.

Guild Wars a lot. God, the factions expansion is a...forgotten metaphor. Uh, on one hand it's really, really easy to level up, and on the other, the missions and areas are filled with HUGE mobs of enemies. Some of which explode when you kill them, not good when you chose a melee class with light armour.

I can't believe I forgot about Wintersday. It was the only reason I kept GW installed since the uh, last Wintersday. Snowball fights I miss you  :'(

With expert timing it was possible to gather all four wintersday hats in one go (two in Lion's Arch and two in Nightfall's Kamadan), but my computer decided to disconnect and keep me from getting the horns of Grenth. Ah, well.

Right now, I'm catching up on what I missed while being addicted to WoW: Baten Kaitos, NWN2, and Fire Emblem PoR.

of course that won't last very long because tbc is coming out next week

Now I play not very often. I think I have grown out of "gaming age" or so... probably. :) Only sometimes I play Oblivion and X-tension -- X²-The threat -- X³-Reunion gameline...

There, now half of you won't have to mention it over and over again!

New Super Mario Bros ftw.

Arh! I love the potential in those games, but sadly not all that potential is used, making them a bit too flawed to be truly enjoyable. But then again, I never got myself to check out any of the neat mods for them.
