I think you are being too harsh, it ended up being quite a mysterious album in the sense of it's meaning but in terms of music i only really liked Rosetta Stoned and Vicarious

Rosetta Stoned is kinda awesome on the album, and even better in live.
I liked 10.000 Days on the musical perspective, and for the atmosphere, altough I think the ones I prefer are Aenima and Lateralus.

Correction : Tool takes another dimension in live, which is even better than on the albums. Saw them twice. Awesome. :P
Seeing Maynard wearing a gasmask while making some fistfucks in the air (during Stinkfist) is a delicious spectacle.
Anyway, Justin Chancelor owns at bass, as Danny Carey does too. :)
