Nice, so there will be improved singing and guitaring as well as moar synthetics.

So, what crazy stuff will you be pulling off when there's a lack of lyrics now that you're not encumbered by a guitar?

Crowdsurfing?
Random dancing around like the 'Chilis lead singer?

Yay! :) I like that :)

Now you only gotta change the band members page...
We're open to such things, we've even talked many times about doing it with Inja, but in a way that's redundant because we can already get Erica

Today i also made a change in my own band, a vocalist is leaving and me and the other guitarist are doing the main vocals now.

On stage sometimes i really wish i didn't have that guitar to carry around, so you can just run around and shit.

Is that how you felt, rob ?

To be honest it's gonna take some time getting used to..

I mean having the guitar makes it harder to sing (cause it weighs down on the lungs and takes more energy leaving less for singing) and also I can't really play anything complicated while singing, meanwhile being locked in place cause I need to be where the mic is. But I'm so used to it that I feel kinda naked without it, even though I'm beginning to get the hang of it.... What I'll do now in non-vocal parts I really don't know yet, we don't really rehearse or plan such things (at this stage, anyway), so whatever happens will be what happens on its own.

I'm sure I'll be able to occupy my time on stage, though...  ::)

You'll simply have to pull a Tomas, and actually play naked.

Don't you think it's cool if the band made up some moves, synchronically ?

And running around and firing up the crowd is a good time spender aswell.

As for the guitarrin, yeah, as the clean vocalist in my band, i know its really crap you can't do everything at once.

The childeren of bodom guy pulls it off though ;)

we're looking for a singer/screamer now so hopefully we'll find one soon. Then we're off recording and playing gigs as well ;)

Oh, right about the line up.

I think its a really sober and wise desicion. Freedom and movement is really important on live shows..(to me, that is ;) )  and i think its going to fill in great.

One worry though, can Gordon pull off all the riffs and solos in time ;D

Yeah, a lot of musicians are very skilled at both playing an instrument and singing at the same time.

But unfortunately, I'm not one of them.

I think we won't throw any solos on Gordon for at least a while... He can focus on learning the other guitarwork first, and Jonne takes the leads for now... Gordon has to earn his power-ups ;)

So does this mean almost-near-studio quality vocals from you at live sets then? ;)

Heres an idea. Since you don't have any actual person playing the SIDstaion anymore your should set up a C64 on stage durring your live shows and have it "play the SID" or at least, make it seem like it is... come one, you know my idea is genious!  ;D

nah I'm kidding, although it would be very funny to have it as if there was a C64 apart of your band

This is actually pretty cool news. I don't know if Gordon has keyboard-live syndrome like I did, but I fealt like an ass during easy-synth parts on stage. Not much more I can do than hold down three keys and jump up and down with a goofy smile on my face.

I think he'll have alot of fun with a guitar. And the fact you put up with guitar/vocals this long amazes me. My advice to you is, during non-vocal parts, jump into the crowd and mosh with people. That's always a real crowd pleaser! And you'll get a mosh going, hehe.

I have two questions:
What does this change in the studio during the recording process?
And what was the studio recording process before? I had always assumed y'all did your normal guitar tracks individually (meaning you recorded your parts and he recorded his). If this was the case, will you still continue to do guitar tracks on the recording? And I assume Gordon will continue to do all the wonderful keyboard stuff in the studio.

In any case, sounds like y'all are excited. So I'm excited. :)
