Would it be worth buying/downloading?

Downloading? No. It's got the latest Securom, and its a bastard to crack.

translation, wait a couple months until they make a better crack...

Games with the latest securom such as NWN2 have already been cracked, within days of release at that. Patch it to kill cracks? Ha, one of the first things most games change in a patch is that they remove the DRM because it causes so many problems for legitimate customers.

I can attest to this.

It's cool.  I did not mean to derail this thread into a discussion about piracy.

I was just being a smarmy smartarse.

For bugs, yes it has bugs. A fuck load? No. Lets compare it toooooooooo BF2142. That has a CTD timer of 1 hour for me (or anytime i hit alt+tab). In DoW a few units are bugged like:

Heavy Weapon teams entrenching to their _previous_ location instead of current. You undeploy and redeploy, no problem.
Necron Greater Summoning Core can be two shotted for some reason.

As for imbalances, well, what game doesn't have them xD Its about how you counter them. Theres only one army that scares me, and thats the orks. I think every other army has an equal chance of winning/losing. The orks though... so many... so many....

I downloaded Dawn Of War quite a while back, I still have it on my pc iirc, still unable to play it because every time a crack is released, they release a patch.

I just wanna play it with my friends online but it patches it through the client so its awkward to crack.

Hmm... I had the cracked DC before the Swedish release. Don't play it enough to be good enough not to get beaten to a pulp online, but I play it once in a while with my brothers.

again, if it' sso unballanced, why ahs the ranked play been at roughly 50/50 win/loss for EVERY race in the game sence they started to post the results?

I beleive it's a case of "I don't know how to play the game, so I'm going to claim it's unbalanced."  here.

is that true even of orks? I remember pre-winter assault, i only lost to orks maybe twice the whole time i played... which was a lot.

Pre Winter Assault, I was unstoppable with eldar.

Then i experimented with the imperial guard in WA, but fared better in multiplayer with space marines.

In Table top 40k, I have an Imperial army consisting of elements of the Crimson Fists Space marine chapter and the Rynn's World Planetary Defence Force.

Pre Dark Crusade i was a Space Marine (Blood Angel shock horror) player, but now I'm an Imperial Guard Player.

They fit my style of play perfectly and i love their quotes.

I got this game back when it launched. I've always been more of a Space Marines player, but I've been finding the Tau and Chaos fun to play.
