Headphones
« on: October 29, 2006, 05:50:27 pm »
Okay, I'm looking for some new headphones. Any suggestions?

I like, and have used the Icemat Siberia Headset, the only thing that bugs me about them is the mic. I suppose it's okay if you just turn up the output volume.

Sennheisers are veeery good stuff. Only thing with Sennheiser is that they often have non-standard stuff. A friend of mine had to replace his headphone cable, and it would have cost him something like €40 to get a new one from Sennheiser. That's half the cost of the phones themselves. Good for him my dad's frikkin leet with solder.

That said, you need to use violence on your Sennheiser stuff for it to break. Awesome quality.

How much are you willing to spend though? and what are you using them for?

I have Sennheiser PC155's, and I'd highly recommend them. The 165's are a lot better, and rumour has it theyre developing the 170 range too.

I'd definately put my money on Sennheiser. They have an awesome returns service too - you could send a mangled mess of plastic and metal to them and still get a new pair back :)

When you have an irritating little sister who always bugs you, having headphones is preferable. Not only does it mean you can block all noises the bitch makes, you can also talk to people over Skype without her asking 'Why are you talking to a Canadian? Do you know him?' and the rest of that crap.

Plus, speakers at full blast are meh at best, I've found. It also makes you look like a prick.

Not if you have neighbours with the same music tastes ;) I personally prefer speakers over headphones because I hate not being able to hear myself talk on skype etc because I end up yelling xD
Also when you want to physically feel yourself shake from bassy songs, headphones can't keep up :P

I would talk to the Canuck if the useless bastard was ever on Skype.

And by talk, I mean insult the ethnicity of.
